ClutchFans Game Thread: Lakers @ Rockets 5/1/2026 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 6)

Of course now that I start caring they will lose.

 

People are worried the fix is in with Scott Foster, but what if he’s here to help?

This playoffs have been a mess for Adam Silver. The disappointing teams (Nuggets, Pistons, Celtics, etc.) The injuries (Doncic, Durant, Antman, Taytum, etc.) Last night’s embarrassment in Atlanta. Silver needs a feel good, inspiring story and what is better than the first 0-3 comeback in league history? It’s a one-of-one event in basketball. And with the youngest starting lineup? People need to know no matter the odds, even if everyone else stops believing, as long as you believe in yourself, you can overcome anything.

Do the right thing, Mr. Foster. A weary world needs a thrill of hope right now.

 

This game can’t be close or Scott Foster will decide it. I’m not even joking…

 

I think Scott Foster is actually a positive for this team. He normally likes to let a lot physical play go but is quick to call a tech when players start yapping. He tends to call it like a 90s game, which favors the rockets' aggressive defensive style. It might make things tough for Alpi and Amen to score in the paint though because they probably won't get a favorable whistle.

This is going to be the Reed and Sengun game.

 

I want a win but I don't want a blowout statement game. Save it for the showdown... don't need arrogance, I need that sense of quiet desperation we've had to continue. A hard fought victory, down to the wire. It was Reed game 5. Jabari's had a good series, Tari shook a bit of the funk off game 5 too. Is it Amen? Sengun? Who has the effort that puts them over the top?
