The playoff stats are a small sample size with the Lakers missing their top two scorers. The regular season numbers are a better reflection of how they play together. I think if you can move Sengun for Ware and Herro then you do it and I'm a huge Sengun fan.
Again --- the problem with how Stone has built this team is that older injury risk players have a huge impact on the Rockets, and a trade for Giannis would be a continuation of that same thing. In a playoff series, in theory a rotation that is 100% healthy with..... FVV/Reed/Thompson/Smith/KD/Giannis/Adams and one of the defender wings would be an exceptional defensive team, a very physical team, and very hard to beat in the playoffs - and low on turnovers.... the problem is that it is very unlikely they all would be healthy. The spacing would also be a real issue, but if FVV shoots 38% from 3 and KD and Reed shoot 40%... with Jabari maybe around 38%, you may be able to make the spacing part work. The window though largely closes in 2 years.
Does the window really close in 2 years though? With that lineup you have all of Thompson Reed and Smith with the potential for their games to grow. Winning playoff series gives them top level experience, and worst case, they become more valuable "playoff hardened" assets. Either one of them has taken a major step forward, and the window remains open [unlikely, but not 0% chance] - or trade parts for a different whole [ie, reload around someone else]. Either way, I'd take a 2 year championship window. We currently don't have one, and won't have one unless one of those young guys develops anyway. Also, agree on spacing. Finding a stretch 5 is essential for a rotation including Giannis and Thompson [ie, Adams out?]
Yeah but that's how he twerks defenders back into the restricted area so leave the junk in his trunk alone, aite?!
I wonder if you could get both Giannis and KD to Miami with Sengun staying here. Shepard Herro Amen Jabari Sengun / Ware
trading sengun and relying on amen and sheppard to carry the offense also seems like a losing proposition. our only hope is a good coach somehow makes alpi and amen fit together... i'm skeptical, but i feel it's the only option unless you start tanking again for picks.
I think the Lakers have the same problem as the Rockets with KD playing. European flopper playin with an American flipper. They are both “A” type personaliti..I mean insufferable, unexperienced losers.. but what gives. The NBA is the least watched sport behind Soccer and Hockey and it isn’t getting better. Basketball is fun to play, but this league is a shell of what it should be.
We should trade him. We're 5/28 from three, but make no mistake Sengun IS the problem. Getting rid of him, keeping Udoka and his army of non-shooting football players who just happened to be tall and athletic enough to step on the court, keeping the lawyer...that'll fix everything. Yes, 38 yo KD will lead us to glory and yes, Giannis' knees won't give up. I want you to trust me on this one. I know ball.
