They were always going to give him another season, so this year is make or break

Texans didn't win SB because of a number of events, includes super bad outing for CJ. But new OC and new system cause a 0 - 3 start against winnable opponents. Up hill battle than ended up as wildcard seating. Last year's team, once it sync, should have been fighter for top seat AFC. They instead played at NE, in the snow. Then there were the injured WR and TE and the OT. That didn't help at all. In the end, the QB is better than those 2 games last year. He needs to prove it, or he will not have a huge extension. But if/when he does, then this team will likely be favorite to reach SB from AFC.

I think what they are doing is the only thing they can reasonably do to give themselves a chance to succeed in spite of CJ. They're beefing up the run game, continuing to bolster their defense, hoping for good health and, I suspect, having many conversations with CJ about what his role will be in this upcoming season, which won't be to hold on to the ball and play hero anymore.

To all who are saying this is CJ's last yr, if he does not have a good yr. Who else are they going to bring in, if they go 11-6, 12-5, like they did in previous yrs??

If you’re at the back end of the draft and your payroll is near the max, who else can you bring in?

I would've liked to heard what Simms had to say.

Yeah, CJ being historically bad is Caley's fault.

Did TJ ention that CJ has the abilty to change any playcall at the LOS whenever he wants too? Against the Pats the INT for a TD was supposedly a play CJ changed at the LOS. TJ is an apologist that's just trying to stay relevant.

    Time will tell us.

You cant be worse than CJ was the last 4 games of the season.

It’s almost like a perfect storm for the Texans. If CJ works then you have a QB. If not, 2027 is a great year to draft a QB. This next class is as deep as the QB class has been in awhile

If he's anywhere near as bad as he was last year the Texans have to pull the plug. The most likely scenario would be packaging a ton of picks to trade up for a QB.

I'm in a small minority, but I like just about every move this off-season. My only complaints are complainers. Ironic isn't it.

There were no slouches the first three games of last year. We also had two key positions we thought were strengths (Mixon and Ward) become no shows.None of the three were blowouts despite the new install on offense.

Wk 1 LA Rams 12-5 Playoffs

Wk 2 Tampa Say Before their injuries 8-9, but started off 6-2 losing only to the Lions and Eagles.

    Wk 3 Jacksonville 13-4 Playoffs

It's amazing how easily we forget the schedule was one of the hardest we've ever faced, even though we went 12-5.

Just be aware many are spiraling because we were disappointed with the last game.

Took me longer than I thought but I think I'm finally over the New England loss. I'm ready to go again
