all the talent on the roster and coaching staff have left and now the team is left with dog water personnels
I don't think the issue is their scouting department, they have a number of very accomplished people there right now and they have guys moving up in the system. As for analytics, that was destroyed when the lose Geles, she was the big brain that kept that afloat. However, Brown and Dickey have successfully removed all of the women involved in the baseball side of things -- and these women were very good. Where I see the problem is with the coaching staff --- and the player development portion of the team. There is a complete lack of innovation and I don't think the coaches are smart enough compared to other teams. Which is funny --- because it was the coaching staff and player development staff that Reggie Jackson, Jeff Bagwell, Enos Cabell and others ripped. There are a lot of important traits for a business or organization to thrive --- and we have gone from an organization of young and shrewd people that are very bright, to one where there is lots of experience, but not a lot of highly creative or bright people.
The coaching staff is really uninspiring. I am sure there are 2-3 worse, because there are some that are bad and also have toxic coaches or out of control coaches. The Astros coaches are good people --- they just are not bright or inspiring; they are out of touch.
Didn't Crane try to screw Luhnow out of money owed on his contract? Doubt he comes back to baseball at all and this would be the last place he winds up if he did.
