ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Lakers 4/29/2026 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 5)

Yes, I’m a massive dork, and all of you knew that already…but this is the stuff that makes this happen if we’re gonna pull this off:

 

I mean what’s there to lose at this point? Plus I’d rather him say that than talk about next year lol.

 

I just want to see fight. If we lose we lose, but don’t get blown out. Make them earn it. Play with the same intensity as last game, and please let Okogie start and be on LeBron. You’re not gonna stop him, but he annoyed LeBron more than any player has this series.

No way, if we want to at least hope that Tari will give us everything he has, we can't demote him otherwise he will just be mopey coming of the bench. He may be mopey anyways, but the chances are higher that he is good if he starts. Okogie just needs to come in as energy. Hopefully Tate stays off the court today.

 

Yeah I definitely couldn't do it that way, I consume basketball content all day every day, it'd be impossible for me to avoid it. It's why I always find it hilarious when the dudes with 1000 posts in 20 years of posting call me a "casual" yet are never in a game thread, and never seem to have any knowledge of anything beyond the worthless estimated "metrics" they watch. NORMAL game time for me is 1am and I rarely miss a game live.

 

I honestly think Lakers will close this out. JJ Reddick and his staff watched the film, did effective practice with Lakers and will prob come out with adjustments.

Meanwhile Dumbdoka prob had the entire Rockets team doing sprints and push ups and had the team watch Mighty Ducks and Coach Carter for film session. If Sengun makes the "Flying V" sign for their play you know thats what happened.

Regardless this should be a good learning experience for the young core who knows if they come out with the same intensity and focus maybe they win despite zero coaching.

 

I am ready for the season to end today.

 

If the argument of starting or not starting a player is he isn’t going to try as hard is a huge red flag for a player. If that’s the case I’d just prefer to start Okogie. Starting someone so their feelings don’t get hurt is a horrible way to run a team, especially if that player has been under performing for a lot of the season
