ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Lakers 4/29/2026 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 5)

My god, Denver and Detroit fell off of cliffs. Multiple. Each of them.

 

Game #1 and #2 were both blowouts for the Lakers, the scoreboard just didn't reflect it

 

I am so hyped!! I cant wait for game tonight!! I am believing so much in this Team!! They will bring the Series back to Houston guys!! Every hater will see, that this Team isnt a fail! This Team isnt a Contender but not so far away! They thoght after Game 3:" Nice easy Series win and we can wait for the heal of Donic and Reaves but they will lose tonight and they lose on friday too and Sunday will be the Showdown on Game 7!! The Rockets will make History there!! Dont forget my words! This Team can be young and not so much experienced but this Team got heard and there are so Competitors in this Team!! Guys believe it and give positive Energy!!

I'm actually hoping Reaves does play, hopefully I won't eat those words but whatever if I do, not expecting them to win tonight unfortunately since I imagine we're getting prime Lebron with a two full days of rest.

But Reaves might be rusty and out of it, especially defensively. I do feel if we get through this game we have a realistic chance at winning this series since Lebron right now is everything to this team and this whole series he was getting 2 days of rest, after this it's one day of rest, quick turnarounds, travel...should benefit the younger team.

 

I don’t see us winning tonight.

it is unfortunate. Despite all of the KD drama, we probably should’ve come out of this series with a victory or, even if the injury is legitimate done better than stretch it to five games.

it was really unfortunate to only see us play well for 1.5 games. hard to stomach the things that were so obvious as critical flaws, not being addressed in season and then so blatantly screwing us over the last 10 days.

I’m thinking about the playoffs the last couple years and liking what I’ve seen from Thompson. It is time to build the team around him and shooters.

 

Survive the first 6 minutes, the middle 8, and then don't poop the bed in the fourth if the game is close.

I don't love how we can't get easy buckets in the halfcourt, so we're going to have to get out in transition.

Gonna come down to making shots and finishing the possession with a rebound while getting stops unless the floodgates open early, imo.

I’ve got a friend I used to message the day after games like, “Did you see that?!” and he’d always tell me not to spoil it because he was watching the replay a full day later. I was surprised how he could avoid the score for that long.

Too much talking by Rockets players. I guess they are trying to hype themselves up but I'm sure the Lakers scrubs are being fed this material and it's going to wake them the **** up, especially since they are in LA and are likely to have a good shooting game.

Tony Brothers has also been sent to finish this up.

 

This is probably the most indifferent I’ve ever felt about an elimination game in my 30+ years of being a Rockets fan.

Still not over the G3 collapse. Series should be 2-2.
