https://www.theringer.com/2026/04/2...ant-trade-kawhi-leonard-giannis-antetokounmpo "It’s hard to picture the Rockets trading Durant for a facsimile of the package they gave up to get him. Instead, I think they’ll keep KD and pivot skyward with an even bigger blockbuster move. And even if he slashes their runway in half, Leonard, to me, is the most interesting name worth pursuing. " "Whether it keeps Udoka or goes in a different direction, the next question Houston must ask is very simple: How close is it to winning a championship? This isn’t a simple exercise. The Rockets look broken, but they also won 52 games this season and had the sixth-highest net rating in the league. They were competent on both sides of the ball and had a foundational identity, even though they addressed their point guard problem with Band-Aids and bubblegum"
Given that both Kawhi and Katie like the ball in their hands and primarily operate from the midrange, how would these two even work together? Expecting KD to be your offensive juggernaut and Kawhi your defensive juggernaut seems wildly optimistic given their ages and injury histories. Plus there's the whole "Kawhi was being given money under the table" thing that makes me want nothing to do with him.
(Defensive Center)Adams, Amen, Durant Leonard FVV Could be lethal lineup? There basicly saying find a defensive center in the offseason? Rolling with 2 old lethal vets, around FVV and Amen. Looks like a roster that could win some games. But yea Sengun is alot, but assuming that would be asking price for superstar. thou, would take less than acquiring Giannis. I bet it get looked at thou if they are in desperate mode to compete and dont think this core is able to. I mean they just got beat by a team with a 41 year old lebron and bunch of sub-par roleplayers.
Leonard has not made a NBA defensive team in 5 years. Has not made a 1st team in 9 years. I swear to god if they trade for that guy i will cut down my viewing of the team to 20% . Interest level would be 25 + year all time low.
Im open to trading anyone for the right deal, but one guy on his back nine was enough. Fire Stone first. Hire an architect. A guy who can build a team. A guy who understands shooting is fundamental to basketball and maximizes assets. Possibly also a woman, I aint sexist, as long as Stone goes elsewhere.
Kawhi and KD would operate similarly to Kawhi and PG on the Clippers. PG isn't a 1 to 1 facsimile of KD, but his strengths and shot selection are pretty close. However, Kawhi and PG could barely advance in the playoffs together in their primes with a deep roster. So I wouldn't be optimistic at all about a team built and Kawhi and KD at the end of their careers.
I have been back and forth on Sengun all season, but if we trade him for Kawhi "Where My Crutches At" Leonard, I'm f**king done with this team for awhile. We're going nowhere and it will be hell to watch while we get there.
Durant clearly needs a new coach because it isnt working out with [insert current coach here]. If [insert new coach name here] can come in and design a system that caters to Durant's strengths as a shooter and play finisher, the [insert current Durant team here] could find themselves as a title favorite early next season.
The first tenant is “do no harm”. That means, taking Stone and Ime out of a decision-making capacity. As for the ludicrous talk of trading Sengun for aging, injured players, let’s not dig a hole we can’t crawl out of.
If investigation clears up on him and Clippers then I'd consider KD for Kawhi. He is better two way player than KD.
My friend says his barber cuts one of the assistant coaches, and he specifically mentioned Sengun for Leonard months ago. Fwiw, potato head news, etc
I do like the idea of getting Kawhi. He was amazing this year, but if we give Sengun the whole org should be fired. I think we can get him without even giving up Sengun. Adams, DFS, picks, fillers.
Fire Stone. Sign Kerr. Trade Sengun, Tari, Holiday plus picks for Steph. Trade FVV in a separate deal. Boom.
