If Miami strikes out on Giannis and the Rockets take a step back from giving up assets to contend/KD wants out: KD for Herro + Jovic + 2026 pick + 2028 pick We would have to absorb/reroute Jovic's new contract and decide whether to resign Herro, but would give us flexibility and some more draft assets (potentially ~13ish pick for 2026 and late FRP for 2028). I would take Desmond Bane. A big downgrade in talent but he's a decade younger, cheaper, and signed for an additional year. We have no immediate path to contention and have decisions to make about the young core, but shouldn't be rushed to do so. Bane helps in the interim and would be a culture fit, IMO. We'd have him through the rest of his twenties. I think he'd be a more flexible trade asset to more teams than KD.
I just don't think they'd do it tbh. They have a future star SF anyway, they'd be making their fit worse to make ours better. If they'd do it you snap their hand off and block their number the minute you receive the trade contract tbh lol
Still at least AG plays through a calf strain and grade 2 hamstring in the playoffs. KD can’t play through a sore ankle. Come on now. Grade 2 hamstring is a lot worse than an ankle sprain. Give me AG he gives a ****
The Celtics have a $27M trade exception. We can trade KD to them for Payton Pritchard, Sam Hauser and some picks. I think that makes us a better team AND saves $25M in salary.
