On AM610 today, Lopez asked is CJ swarmy? They all answered, "No."

While I'm not a Lopez fan, I thought that was a good question. That last pic of CJ with his shorts outfit and scarf is about as anti-swarm persona as you can get.

But then I asked myself how many QBs really have that swarm mentality? Probably just a handful. Guys like Mahomes, Allen, and Mayfield come to mind. Who am I missing?

Personally to me, Mahomes has a lot of heart, but doesn't really seem to have that swarm mentality. I don't really like how he often acts hurt so that he lull defenders into making mistakes. I'm with you on the other two and maybe could add Stafford (borderline?). I guess "swarm'' can mean slightly different things to different people. Not the greatest of QB's, but to me, Jim McMahon would be the poster child for swarm...lol.

You probably don't remember Bobby Douglass, but he even out swarmed McMahon.

It is a good question from Lopez. There are a few elements of 'swarm' - I don't need a QB who plays constantly hyper-aggressive like Favre (unless they have his arm) or out of control (Rosen-copter) ... but another element of swarm is the unrelenting confidence and 'never quit' mindset. I really don't see that in CJ, at least not yet. That is frankly my single biggest concern with him - he is very good when conditions are perfect, but if things start going badly, or he gets hit a few times, or even if it starts raining he seems to waver and get in his head.

In short, his Special Work Ethic is fine - he works hard. But "Relentless Mindset" is not a phrase I would use for CJ.

Not sure there's a single QB that does this "Swarm" **** yall are talking about, whatever you think it means..and that's OK.

...but I'm glad John Lopez has an opinion about it!

There was this one QB who "swarms" like a LB, and he retired before he hit 30.

I was told by many here on this board that CJ has been good the last two seasons though, right?
Those scouts and executives have to be wrong

Jury still out on cj and drake and Jayden and Love, blah. However, mayo boy has been judged, convicted, and sentenced to a life sentence of suck.

CJ and Jayden aren’t on Maye and Love level, unless those two show regression like CJ and Jayden have.
And I wouldn’t count Levis out, Willis left that place and is now a potential starter

You don’t think Cj or Jayden can bounce back but you think Levis can ? When he hasn’t even shown much of anything ?

I didn’t say they couldn’t bounce back, I said they’re not on Love or Maye’s level.
Levis has flashed in several games but sucks for the most part.
All I’m saying is he’s more talented than Willis, who when he left that terrible organization he started to take off.

CJ and Jayden can absolutely bounce back, I hope they do.
