Excuse me this man is about to be 38 and couldnt play in the first round when the whole point of him was the playoffs and you want to keep him? You cant be fcking serious. This board is hilarious man lol pure laughs.
Houston Rockets Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: +6.1 ppg, +7.9 rpg, and +1.6 apg. Incoming Players Duncan Robinson 32 year old, 6-7, 215 lb F from Michigan 12.2 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 2.1 apg in 27.4 minutes in 2025-2026 Isaiah Stewart II 24 year old, 6-8, 250 lb C from Washington 10.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 22.7 minutes in 2025-2026 Ausar Thompson 23 year old, 6-7, 205 lb G from Overtime Elite (Georgia) 9.9 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 3.1 apg in 26.0 minutes in 2025-2026 Outgoing Players Kevin Durant 37 year old, 6-11, 240 lb SF from Texas 26.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 4.8 apg in 36.4 minutes in 2025-2026
This plan would have us hoping the defense only gives up 85ppg because two non shooters and Duncan for Durant is rough.
I hope you’re right, Durant for Wiggins and Ware would be perfect for Rockets. We could also move Sengun for a pretty good haul or keep him and let Ware develop. Sengun to Indy for Nembhard, Topin, Indy’s 26 pick, and 30 pic. Sign Ayo, Dump FVV, Adams, DFS if you can. Amen, Nembhard/Ayo, Wiggins, Jabari, Ware Bench: Reed, 26 frp, Topin, Tari, Capella, Ayo/ Nembhard. Huge amount of draft assets to re-load with in 27.
I'm keeping Sengun for at least one more season under a new coach / offensive scheme. It would be foolish to giveup before that, in my opinion.
Odds on us actually getting a new coach though? Maybe a new assistant to run the offensive schemes could be a possibility. I guess Ime was willing to work with Mazzulla taking on a lot of those duties in Boston, supposedly.
. You aren't curious to see how this team is next year healthy with upgrades? And hoping that our young guys improve as well.
No Im not curious to see how much more KD will ruin the team next year. He's already got the entire NBA blaming everyone but him with the "KD was right bullshit". Thats awesome for chemistry. Cant wait til next year when he is even more older and slower and disappointing and blames everyone else when his man blows right by him. This team has already turned out like I predicted. My quote from last year is "this team will be worse and KD and the fans will blame everyone but KD because he shoots well". The truth is he just doesnt have the impact he used to have. The shooting means nothing because it doesnt come when needed and everything else sucks. Casuals only go by shooting percentage.
Idk how we got worse if we have the same record as last year. Last year we just didn't have any expectations so that's why it seemed fun. Did you forget when we lost 6 straight and everyone was wondering if we would win again lol
Sure, if you can force them into taking or facilitating another team taking on DFS, that changes the math dramatically. Maybe I undervalue KD the player to some degree. He did have a hell of a year statistically and some analytics team is could fall in love with those numbers. I'm just not so sure you can extract a hell of a lot of value out of him. I was thinking the same thing - he's likely out at least until February. It's just $56m spent on shortening KD's contract by a year and accumulating draft assets - anything beyond that is icing on the cake. If you can parlay his contract or bird rights into another asset, it's a win. . I'm not so sure the Ayo ship has sailed, not after the way he's played this post season .... It all depends upon the size of contract and if Minny has any interest in KD in a S&T. He's going to get a huge increase in his next deal, how much is the question. If it's anywhere close to $30m, you could easily do a declining contract starting at a figure large enough to make the swap possible ($35,121,951). KD along with Ant and crew would make one hell of a potent offense .... and Ayo solves a lot of our problems. That might seem crazy, but the guy has had a historic season shooting wise - .517/./439/.876./.625 That's Nash, Curry, KD splits shooting the ball and his turnover rate in the 85th percentile. The numbers for this season are top 10% of all guards in the last decade, and it doesn't appear to be a fluke - his career splits are .505/.380/.804. Add to that being a plus defender at the position and the ball handling ability .... he's gonna get a fat payday.
I know just the guy who wouldn't be able to pass up on a superstar like KD. Morey. Trade KD for Maxey. He can pair KD with Embiid which on paper sounds amazing if they're both healthy. Morey would bank on that. Done deal.
Some draft picks probably have to move around for this, but I'm not sure which picks and to whom, other than Brooklyn needs to get something out of this. But in terms of lining up with what each team needs, I think this makes the most sense of anything I've been able to come up with. Minnesota gets their #2 guy to make a real championship push, and a backup center to replace Naz. The Rockets get significantly younger and get the stretch 5 we've all been wanting, and a scorer who can replace KD without a massive downgrade on offense. Brooklyn gets to parlay MPJ into some draft capital without losing much in terms of production (again, you fill in the lines on what that looks like). KD gets to play for a contender. MPJ gets to play for a much better team. Julius Randle... well, I guess he gets to be in New York again? The only major stumbling block here is the Rockets do downgrade on defense, and Ime Udoka isn't going to like that. But f*ck 'im. If the Rockets aren't ready to at least stop trying to treat him like the savior of the franchise and say no sometimes at this point, this organization is screwed.
I think Kawhi is still the better target for many teams......even with his injury history. 2 way player, younger and such.
I'll trade KD for Maxey as well, young and fits the timeline. I would even trade Sengun. Not Amen though.
Sengun for Brandon Miller, Grant Williams, Liam McNeely. Durant/Capela/Future top 6 protected 1st/Future lotto protected first for Towns. Towns/Adams Smith/McNeely/Williams Miller/DFS Amen/Okogie FVV/Reed
