Miami, New York, Denver, Minnesota stand out to me as target teams I guess. we just have to see how the playoffs shake out.
Id do that in a heartbeat but I think Morey is going to be super cautious because KD and Embiid are almost certain to clash at some point. But if Embiid and KD are cool now I could see the players and their agents putting Morey in a situation where agents and players work him into accepting it. My guess is he’d only do the 2026 FRP and might fight Stone on giving back multiple 2nd rounds to them. I’d still do the deal though. PG has the worst contract in the league in terms of on court value but I like him taking the Tari minutes if we have to let him walk and he can shoot spot up shots. If you have to take back that much bad salary I don’t mind it being a semi retired PG as long as he can sort of defend and hit open 3’s.
I've mentioned something similar, but Ware and the 2026 pick, plus whatever matching salaries it takes. Wiggins?
The question we really need to be asking first is what players (if any) are out there that have a close relationship with KD and are star players that have pull with their current team?? I just don’t see teams wanting to make a KD trade unless their star player is pushing and leveraging their team to get it done. According to the internet it seems as though KD has a close relationship with Tyrese Halliburton and Brandon Ingram. Other than that I really don’t see that this guy is just beloved in nba social circles which actually is an important detail in this situation if you want a chance at getting any value for him.
Exactly correct. This is why we failed under Morey as well. He was always looking for the home run and never understood the concept of investing in role players that can ball. He paid big money to bring in guys like Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook only to see the team flounder since he didn’t have enough salary to surround them with good role players. Having draft picks is also critical to building a young talented team. Not all pics work out the way we want, like Jalen Green, but the Rockets are no longer at the bottom of the barrel because of guys like Thompson and Segun. Jabari is OK but I would just assume have a guy like him come off the bench. No sense in giving him a big salary that’s for sure. Same goes for Tari who has dealt with injuries since his rookie season. These guys are decent role players on a good team, not starters.
What will Herro get as far as an extension? Wiggins as well has a player option he can opt into but then you would have to think about extending him as well. He is a little bit older, but he’s a decent two-way player. I’d like Herro/Ware if we can get Harold to extend for three or so years at a reasonable rate.
One more comment about the importance of draft picks. People seem to forget that Sengun was drafted with the 16th pick… 16th!
get any decent young player I don't buy that KD has no trade value. any team hoping to win a ring will be convinced that KD can help them. no matter all his failures post GSW
IF there's a god KD is traded and Ime is fired. Im sick of this ****. I said to everyone here this would end badly when we got him. He is highly overrated and always has been.
When Kevin Durant was traded to the Rockets. I seriously got angry and stopped caring. Many things crossed my mind. Why wasn't Jabari Smith not traded for Durant. Made the most sense. It was fitting Jabari Smith turned the ball over and drove Ime Udoka mad. You wanted Jabari Smith you got him. Ime Udoka hated Jalen Green for sure, Dillon Brooks drove Ime mad at Dillon antics. Kevin Durant is injury prone, Toxic, Introverted, Bad Character in the Locker Room. I knew this trade was a disaster when I first read it, plus gave up 1st Round Pick.
Reed, Amen, Sengun after that trade everyone that can get as many picks as possible. Rebuild the bench. Jabari Smith has value. Kevin Durant, Steven Adams, Fred VanVleet trade him back to Toronto, Clint Capela trade them for picks if possible and expirings. Tari Eason don't even resign him, let him walk and watch other teams low-ball him.
I’d love Ware and Wiggins, but I don’t see it for Durant. Miami would want Sengun for any trade for Ware. Wiggins would be a great fit for this team.
Players about to become free agents make good trade targets since teams fear losing them for nothing. Two guys that are soon to be on the market that would easily make this team better are: Ayo Dosunmu - scored 43 pts in yesterday’s playoff game. Shot over 43% from 3 and 51% FG. Jalen Duran - only 22 and already putting up 19.5 ppg and 10 boards.
