KD is the ONLY reason we won 52 games. Not his fault that there are morons dumb enough to trade their future for his aging body and then provide him with no support (point guard) and play him 38 minutes a game during the meaningless regular season. We were done when our stupid gm/lawyer said this was “not our season” and made no effort to fix it. Can’t blame KD one iota for bailing on this disaster of an organization.
WHAT A LOAD OF ****....... KD held this team back, without him and last year's roster we win 60.......all these KD ball washers......FFS. He literally wouldn't play any other way than having the ball at the top and his 9 turnovers in game 2 show why that is a bad idea - hell all season you saw that. KD can score, he doesn't do **** to help teams out, doesn't rotate on D, doesn't move off the ball, he is a sniper that is it, but a sniper that wants to be the lead dog and that makes the team worse. KD is melo part 2. DD
for once I'm inclined to agree with DD. I think if we had simply returned the same roster, last year's squad would have continued improving right across the board, and I think they would have improved upon last year's record significantly. AND they would have been much more enjoyable to watch this season compared to what we ended up with
That's the position most clear minded people end up at once they can get past the wall of emotions. Spoiler
Kyle Tucker anyone? How on earth does the city of Houston that's known worldwide as an innovative leader in medicine continue to have some of the worst pro sports medical teams in their respected leagues?? I just don't get it. If your team is located in Glasgow, Montana you get a pass but FFS not Houston Texas..
Do not play Durant under any circumstances. He is probably not 100% and is 37-8n, which risks serious injury and we need to keep up his trade value so we can get something for him.
It’s starting to look like KD only cares about moving up the scoring list, and playoff stats don’t get him any closer to Kobe
if you return last year’s roster minus FVV, my personal opinion is that we would’ve been a worse regular season team. It is hard to say. I liked Green a lot, but I definitely came around to the concept that he was too inefficient. now let’s play out the string and say we didn’t do the trade, but Jalen missed most of the regular season as he did with Phoenix. The shots occupied by Durant somewhat go to Brooks and then the rest of the roster. these are all converted less efficiently, but the team defense obviously improves. Extra shots going to the true players of the future would be good for their development. it really depends on how much weight you put into losing Brooks impacted the defense and then how much weight you put into losing Fred impacted the offense. Personally, I think that most of our players took a step back defensively because they were so worn down including KD. I think that with Fred this team wins a lot more games. if the burner account incident had never occurred. We could probably justify trying to go into next year with augmenting the roster by trading DFS,Capela and depending on how you wanna go about it, Sengun. Now, who knows. but as far as this off-season…. you would have Brooks as an expiring contract probably wanting an extension for more money even when you consider his age. Green would still be upside down on his value and we would have that draft pick on the roster with a year of development and obviously that stings. Who really knows where this goes? it’s pretty complex as far as just the players go. And there is little reason to believe in the coaching or the front office. I simplify it down to wanting to build a system around Amen. I think Reed and Jabari fit well inside of that model. Adams and FVV due as well from the veteran aspect. Although after Adams and Amen, pretty much everybody else on the roster has to be able to shoot. And a couple players need to be able to penetrate and create.
Obvious PR damage control with this “injury” but the league isn’t stupid. If KD really did check out like this it’s going to be damn near impossible to move him this Summer for any sort of value. But yeah you are crazy if you think that maybe he really is just so dedicated to rehab that he cannot be on the bench. My guess is we’ll find out that him and Ime had a falling out. Ime is a guy who lets him emotions get the best of him at times. But even if that did happen KD being this classless and not being there for his teammates is bush league and I think at this point the league in general will just be done with this guy and his immaturity. The Rockets will be lucky to get second round picks and vet filler salary for him. Even as great as he was this season which did surprise me. I thought he’d take a step back given his age but he was good. But his contract, age, and immaturity AT HIS AGE will ensure almost every team will stay clear of him this summer.
I was wrong about Durant and Ime. I thought Ime was capable of running a better offense that just give it to KD and I thought KD knew that wasnt a winning formula.
Well if you're a fan who voted for the trade you signed up for this. Check the threads. The flip flopping is crazy too. At least some fans are owning it.
It was a wash....basically it was Durant for Dillon Brooks, that dude Jalen Green was just an add-on..... Gained scoring, lost depth, lost enforcer, lost some defensive intensity. Probably Maluach was in the deal as well. The way the season went....surely there was an ugly side to all of this and Stone did not lift a finger.....
