Just doesn’t make sense. He was literally a game-time decision and was on the court going through his pre-game routine. Now it’s supposedly a 2-3 week injury?
Of course he did, this REEKS of the Rox protecting his image and promising to move him this summer. DD
Yeah, none of this looks good enough to give him any sort of the benefit of the doubt. And obviously he doesn’t deserve that. it was fun to see somebody shoot that efficiently but other than that it is what it is. I do think that we will receive more in trade than some of y’all are projecting.
At least from what I’ve read they still haven’t decided to pursue an MRI like they did the knee…meaning there isn’t a reason to do one. It sounds like the bone bruise is coming from “it’s still hurting” so probably a bruise. Obviously if they did order testing and it showed that then it’s pretty legitimate. We’re all speculating here and don’t have that insight but Katie hasn’t done himself any favors with his burners , prior history and on court behavior
this sucks. I knew acquiring KD was a risk, but badly wanted the shooting upgrade. He actually exceeded my expectations with his play this season. I underestimated the damage to culture and chemistry. I honestly thought the biggest risk was gonna be his health.
He will now always be Quitterson to me. Truly a phenomenal teammate. I'm sure the young guys will look back on this episode fondly and will be eager to trust our ownership, front office, and coaching staff in the future.
It is better that this young Rockets team fight back and at least get a win without him. We don't want a roster full of ruined youngsters.
I recall him blaming Chuck for a playoff loss despite him dribbling the ball off his shoe on a final possession. Pip remains my least favorite Rocket of all time. KD seems to be gaining ground though
If this was misdiagnosed from the start... like the infamous Rockets 'it’s just a leg injury' with Eason, then KD is gonna be out for the rest of the playoff if the Rockets somehow win a few more games.
I’ve enjoyed watching Durant’s shooting but it’s important to move him while he still has value. Another year and he won’t be tradable.
This looks bad for KD, but worse/disastrous for the organization. I expected him to get hurt or miss more games in the season just due to the high usage rate , without him we don’t win 50 plus games. He carried this team at 37 but unprofessionally aired his frustration on the burner account that hurt team chemistry which was terrible on his part. But this is on Stone and Ime for putting together a terribly flawed roster, not addressing the PG issue while guys like Dosumu, C White , or even Harden could have been obtained all season to address the glaring needs. Even getting CP3 would have avoided the game 3 disaster. Just unprecedented lack of foresight by an organization that had championship aspirations. The owner needs to fire both Ime and Stone, get a reach coach and GM who can decide who stays and who goes based on a REAL plan. This two cannot fix this mess created and Frettita would be unserious about with anything if he keep either of them
I would love to see the Rockets make a trade or potentially sign an FA in the mold of Trey Murphy III. 38% three-point shooter at 6’8”. He’s only 25 and seems to play with energy. Fairly athletic as well. Would much rather have a guy like that than Tari Eason. Right now we have a lot of guys that are either aging or not good enough in the moment. What good is it to have guys on the roster if they don’t contribute in the playoffs?
