I’d trade Durant, Sengun, Capela and try to do a re-set with a young creative offensive coach. Let Javabi bulk up to stretch 5 or 4 with players that compliment a FVV/Amen/Reed backcourt.

That’s where I’m at too. Except I just think it’s imperative the rockets get into this draft to bring at least 2 decent prospects into camp to push the current core. Soft reset and just keep asset accumulating and good things will happen, and at the very least you’ll have a fun to root for play in team.

Case in point- how much do you want to bet that Portland fans enjoyed their season way more than us Rockets fans?

Man that ain’t happening with Ime still here. Hes already run out of patience with the young core. You do that and he probably ask for his walking papers . And I wouldn’t even want that with Ime because he’s shown in his tenure so far here that he’s either not interested or not good at Developing young guys.

Point blank I don’t trust Ime or anybody on this current staff with player development

These fans are funny. They hated JG and cheered for the trade. They said we’re better and more talented. Durant has done nothing but busted his ass against triple teams and turned the ball over a lot because of this but yet gets punished and demonized by fans. Now they’re yelling for a trade

Then it will be 4-5 more years of mediocrity maybe longer unless we get star power. It’s star power or bust for any potential deal we do whether its Durant Sengun Amen Sheppard. I really want to move Sengun, Sheppard, and Amen. Tari sign and trade. If we need to build a super team with kawhi and Giannis then so be it. This team just isn’t it and we can’t go back to mediocrity. That’s not fair to fans

Unlike KD, neither Giannis nor Kawhi has ever expressed their desire to go to Houston.

doesn’t mean they won’t go. No one knows what the future will hold.

I just know this team as constructed isn’t it. I would be hesitant to move Amen but can we wait on him acquiring a longer mid range or three point shot? Unless we get a stretch 5 and another 2 guard that wouldn’t work.

The Timberwolves are winning with their role players (Ayo, McDaniels, Gobert). ANT has been pretty much a non-factor in their series. Meanwhile, the Nuggets are getting nothing from their role players. Detroit is losing bc they're getting nothing outside of Cade. While the Magic have a balanced attack. The Spurs are winning without Wemby and OKC is winning without JDub bc they have a plethora of great guards/wing players. The last thing I want to do is gut the team for a couple of over the hill big names. It NEVER works. Youth and depth is what works nowadays

That's exactly why it would be a horrible idea to trade all our players for another old big name like Giannis or Kawhi. We need to add to this current team. Not subtract

Having a bench is important no doubt. But OKC still has SGA. Wolves still had Ant for 3.5 games. The Magic still have Banchero. These stars draw doubles, triples, they move defenses. We have no one that can do this if KD leaves besides Sengun but again neither him or Amen are shooters which has been the crux of our issues on offense. No teams in the NBA have their 2 main options as non shooters.

Trading KD isn’t an option at this point unless we get star power back. This is my point. It’s stars or nothing.

Just delaying the tanking, its inevitable. We shouldn't have traded for durant, its better to be mediocre and keep trying to find a home grown talent then try to trade your assets for aging stars see Brooklyn nets as an example.

If we are gonna trade our players its needs to be for a fking point guard

Agree on all this. If you get even a mid draft pick and expirings for KD you do it. Denver would be a hard trade to make happen. They won’t give up Braun in a Durant trade in my opinion, but if they would we wouldn’t even need a draft pick. Salary matching is difficult with them. GSW for Butler and Pods 2026 frp for Durant, Adams works and might be achievable. Miami for Herro (expiring), Jakukcionis, and 26 frp. Miami might actually bite on that. To Phili for George, 2026 frp, Lac 2028 frp for Durant, Adams, would suck to have deadweight George for 2 years, but getting 2 pretty good picks might make it worth it.

Miami has a lot of assets I like. They should be a trade partner although they always give up poo-poo platters.

Would love to be able to aqcuire both Ware & Kasparas... I like Jovic as well as far prospects go.

Is that the same Braun that is now sucking against the Wolves?

Then I hope you all enjoy years of mediocrity and play ins with mediocre players. Not trading for stars to propel this team to the next level while making our young players wait around in their prime makes absolutely no sense. Not to mention gifting conference rivals a hall of famer.
