Udoka has the same strengths and weaknesses as Jeff Van Gundy. Great as a culture reset, good defensive coach, extremely stubborn, inflexible, and completely uncreative on offense. Unwilling to adjust lineups and strategy to fit unique talents of his roster. In the end a coach like JVG or Udoka has a very high floor, but also has a limited ceiling. I’ve defended Udoka since he got here, but it may be time for a change.
JBB "turned around" both Cleveland and Detroit into a good regular season team. But his teams never went far in the playoffs, even in the Eastern Conference. This year's Detroit won 60 games and they are in a hole against the 45-win Magic.
