The GM said this isn’t our year. The Head Coach said they choked. The best player on the team online clowned his own teammates for being stupid and unable to shoot. The dye is cast - and everyone is already making up excuses to keep their jobs.
The problem is that this version of Rockets have no real history, it is all fake. The Thunder are just waiting for the Rockets to unnecessarily extend the Series so that they can beat on the Fakers. (or the Rockets)
I do agree that the fact that in each of our L’s so far we looked like s*** but were still close, while Lakers brought their AAA game but couldn’t make serious runs, may give us a slight hope. Based on what we did throughout this season, I can see us tying in 3-3, taking a double-digit lead in G7 4th q, only to drop it and lose in a heroic comeback led by Broni.
Udoka psychotically sat the players down right after the game and made them watch the 30 seconds they screwed up over and over again. These players were already suffering deeply from their own mistakes that resulted in the loss. No competitor needs someone to tell them to feel worse about this kind of situation, they’re kicking the **** out of themselves on the inside. Do you understand what that behavior is? That’s all about threatening the players in order for them to stick to the narrative of blaming themselves on subsequent interviews. That’s “don’t you dare blame me.” You know what he didn’t show the players? The other 148.5 minutes of playoff basketball where they were trying to overcome his stupidity, rigidity and inability to coach an offense. He didn’t show the clip of himself shrugging his shoulders when asked about the guy - who he said is a role model for the young players - talking trash about young teammates from a burner account. He didn’t show the clip of him giggling on day 1 of his job (post Silas) that he’s going to teach these kids how to have a winning offense. After spending hundreds of millions, we still have an ISO-heavy offense and no one knows how to execute properly. Our TS% only improved a little when we got Kevin Durant. Silas could’ve done that too. Could’ve done better to be honest - he actually never had a PG. This season has been a disaster with Udoka and he’s lucky his extension is going to save him. The media is totally over him. That finals run has been demoted from an accolade to a “now you gotta prove it again” status. I don’t think this team has the energy and cohesion for coming back from a huge deficit. Many Rockets teams like that in history. Not this one though. There’s no leader and no role models. Appropriate oldie but goodie:
In theory Udoka should be running circles around Redick with his 11-12 million a year......okay Redick's 8 million ballooned to 9.
Coming into the series, the goal for the Lakers was to win at least 1 of the first 3 to buy team for Luka or Reeves to come back. We went and let them have all 3
yea but to be honest it almost happened a few years ago. Who was it, the Celtics? Can’t remember but I do remember it was a real possibility recently.
I just want to win a game. Don't get swept, that sucks. Win one here and then fight like hell for one in LA. It would be nice to watch one more Rockets game this year. Nothing that happens will cause Ime to be fired so getting swept does nothing to help us. I think winning a game or two helps our team a lot more than getting swept. Losing 4-0 is just ammunition for our brain-dead leaders to burn it down and trade away our future. I do think we need to look at team composition but I don't want to get pennies on the dollar because players looked bad in the playoffs. And I don't want Giannis.
