honestly, I’d take Jalen and Dillon back at this point, straight up. Miss last year’s squad, the energy, the chemistry. Dillon has been balling out - averaging 27 ppg in the OKC series.
His contract at his age and whininess is untradeable. This team is heading to purgatory for the next several seasons unless we decide to take a swing on Giannis. It's happening and I couldn't be less excited. It's a horrible move.
I didn’t like the trade from the getgo but at the time many if not most of the people complaining now loved the deal. That’s in the past and nothing we can do. They want to now. I think Giannis and a few vet pieces will make us a contender at least for the next couple years. I think it would be exciting and a better product than this current crop
Yeah could be prison ball if our guys dont work on outside shooting. But would be so fun to see the twins just lock up.
can’t trade kd now . We already gave up primary and tertiary scorer for him. We won’t get back equal value. If we trade kd we have to get back another primary scorer or equivalent scoring production. We’re screwed. We jsut have to hope that FVV on the wrong side of 30 and coming off a devastating injury is the answer.
If I were Durant, I wouldn’t want to deal with this nonsense. Having said that, he decided he wanted to jump from team to team, so some of it is on him. If I were a team like Denver, I wouldn’t do everything to get him. His turnovers have been high, but overall he has been as advertised. Rockets won’t do it - but I would move KD for a decent draft pick, would try to move FVV as well and actively shop Sengun and if I get fair value, move him - preferably for draft picks.
Pretty sure Phoenix and KD both say no. It would be funny though if they bilked us out of two FRP just to return to how things were before the trade. Denver is an interesting thought, but matching salaries is difficult. Cam Johnson + either Braun or Gordon works, I think? They also have #26 in this draft class.
Here go! Houston and Miami Houston out - KD and Reed Miami out - Herro, Ware, D. Mitchell, Tari and a #1 C- Ware PF - Sengun SF - Jabari SG - Herro PG - Thompson Bench - FVV, Mitchell, Adams, #1 draft pick This allows Sengun to be in his natural position PF, next to a center who can step out and hit the 3. Mitchell is a HELLUVA backup PG and we increase our bench strength
Or maybe there needs to be a realization that a new answer needs to be found. Even if you take a small step back next season long term putting yourself in a situation to explore other younger talents that might or might not blossom will put this team in a better position long term. The role players aren’t bad enough to tank either so they’ll still manufacture 40 to 45 wins even without KD.
Personally I’d be okay next season running it back with the same young group, but without KD while adding at least 2 draft talents (maybe 1 late 1st from a kd trade, and the Chi 2nd). Maybe get back a solid vet or two in that deal. Come into next season just putting Amen in constant pick and rolls attacking the basket and make him shoot just to see what happens. If it’s a disaster than at least we are in position with next years draft and you see a bit more what you have with these youngsters.
