This would be the best off-season to trade Jabari, he’s very limited as a player but he’s had a good series. This is the highest is value will ever be, it’s only down from here. Tari should go, look at offers for Sengun, FVV, and KD. Don’t go star hunting yet, get some more draft picks(in this draft and the future). Keep Reed and Amen for now. Also get rid of all the dead salary( Adams, Green, Tate, Holiday). This takes a real GM to execute so Stone has to go, and Ime has to go. We need an established NBA executive/GM with real relationships around the league to make this work. The Rockets can’t be trying to develop a GM and a coaching staff while trying to develop young players simultaneously. What type of **** is that?
Honestly Jabari has been one of our best players this series, he's averaging 19 and 8 and shooting 46% from three, and he was even better than that last night and kept us in the game the whole time with his shooting. He f*cked up, and I'm sure he feels like hell about it today, but it was one possession.
I would be willing to trade him for the right return, not for peanuts though. He fits on basically any roster since he's a 6'11" and is a decent shooter/rebounder/defender. But sure if you can get a straight upgrade like a Trey Murphy or whatever, I can see it
I think the Rockets might have to trade Amen, He’s the most valuable asset on our roster, Although Sengun is having a bad season I think he’s more likely to develop a jump shot than Amen. Amen could go for a top 5-7 pick and maybe a quality rotation player for a soft reset.
Yeah I feel like one will have to go between Amen and Sengun, just to make the fit right... But my idea is to trade them for other young prospects/picks, even lesser young prospects that might need a fresh start elsewhere. I think it would be a mistake doubling down on the KD trade and getting Mitchell or Kawhi or Giannis. That's not good enough to beat the Spurs or OKC. The best move is to do exactly the opposite, shift expectations, the window is closed, hell it was never opened lol and it was a mistake thinking that we could contend based on one first round exit. Rockets should be still in rebuilding mode, not worry about what Spurs or OKC or Detroit is doing, we are still in rebuilding mode and will be in rebuilding mode until we have a superstar player signed to a 5 year max contract.
I like Mitchell as an option more than Kawhi or Giannis, at least he is still in his 20s (for 5 more months)--but I'm inclined to agree. And I don't know why any of those guys would want to play for us anyway as things stand.
We could possibly get a decent return, but if I’m GM of this team I would be focused on retooling my draft capital especially in this upcoming draft. I would be working to replace most of this young core one move at a time. But the Rockets probably go star hunting and make this situation worse
It's fine to trade Jabari for draft picks if you think the return makes sense. I'll just point out that he's age 22 and locked up on a reasonable long-term contract though, so there's really no rush. I think you really have to like the deal to trade him. But I agree he's in no way untouchable.
I think all 4 of these guys are good but none of them are complete players. At this point, any team built around them will be rudderless. With a real veteran star to lead them, I believe this can be good enough supporting group. Unfortunately, the hall of famer we traded for is the one with no leadership qualities whatsoever and isn't really the type of guy who creates offense for others. I think a 30s LeBron wins a championship with this core. Even like a slightly past prime CP3 or Harden could be a serious contender. But KD was Unfortunately the wrong position of star to trade for.
Yeah, Sengun was trying to lead the team last night, liked seeing that. Somewhere in the middle of the game he started a little run and tried to fire the team up. He tried. Sucks his teammates threw the game away for him...and he had some positive quotes after the game. I don't think Sengun, Bari, or Amen have given up...the others look like they've lost all hope in this series lol. Ime's comments sure don't inspire confidence going forward too.
It’s tough watching a team coached by Ime Udoka play like they’re in their own heads. Instead of hooping free, guys look hesitant—like they’re worried about getting yanked for every missed rotation or bad possession. There’s no rhythm, no flow… just overthinking. You can see them second-guessing reads, passing up shots, and playing tight. At some point, they’ve got to block out the noise, trust their instincts, and just play their game—but right now, the pressure is clearly speeding them up and throwing everything off. Ime takes no accountability, tate should not play a single minute unless it's garbage time.
We are pretty thin he wasnt bad at the 5, just couldn't hit shots. But tate is a foul magnet. Idk why Jeff even played.
For all their faults, I haven't completely given up on our young guys. They all play hard and are players you can root for. Having experienced Durant this season, having players you can root for is a big deal for me. They can be solid contributors on a good team. Hell, we just had back to back 52 win seasons. The worst mistake we could make is blowing it all up and watching them thrive on other teams. We just need to get rid of the dead weight on our bench (DFS, Capela, Tate, Holiday, Tari) that has given us absolutely nothing in this series and add some actual talent to the bench. Jabari, Reed, and to some extent, Sengun, are just always going to be inconsistent. We need alternative options when they're off
