That’s what I’m saying. Udoka and the coaching staff knows he’s not ready but playing him to develop him knowing we will take hits. It just baffles me why they’re playing him for a team trying to win now
more touches! More minutes! He should be starting! Racism Discrimination Unfair That bald headed pervert should be fired for not playing him! Why is he always yanked or punished?
The thing about Sheppard was there was too little data, he did not play a ton, was a bench player for Kentucky. People only looked at his 45-50% however high his 3 pt shooting was......this is not how you scout. The Rockets got bitten by the same stuff with Jabari, they never learn. Under Morey they would have taken the best player with underlying stats. I do not mind Sheppard but the Rockets drafting was a big problem as well......in terms of chemistry, what archetypes are really meant for the modern bball team etc.
watch out. I expect the Sheppard mob will come after us. Many arguments and name calling and accusations in the near future
This is why you don't just look at **** like year 2 "productivity stats" when comparing players.... Reed doesn't have the skillset or the body of a Brunson... And Brunson is still a big liability that I don't think you should build around... Reed's handle and physicality is all significantly worse... Reed is small and he plays small... Brunson uses his body to create advantages for himself at his size and can play physical... Reed isn't a starting caliber guard and never will be cuz in the playoffs he will be exploited far too often... he would need to be a superstar level scorer/shooter.... he doesn't have that potential.
I'm very sure Morey would have taken Reed and Jabari too. Morey doesn't like guys who can't shoot from outside, he would have avoided Amen and Castle like the plague.
He does that all the time and it's because he's small and lacks a good handle .. so when he gets pressured he usually can't see a good angle over the defender and makes a shaky pass under duress... he very often gets SPED up and that's because of his physical limitations as well as a lack of skill.
We take Miller now too I think, he was thought to be can't miss, but we had 4th. That draft was thought to have three great prospects top 3 and we happened to draft 4 lol. Scoot's been kind of a bust (but I can see the potential he's flashing a bit in the playoffs, still too early for him too) and Miller next to Jabari would have been fun...but I think yeah Morey at 4th would have taken someone else or trade back. But we didn't have a shot at getting him that draft either. He wasn't drafting anyone that can't shoot though, not that high, I can't see it. Morey would have built a better team any ways, maybe draft the same guys give or take, but he would have made better trades for sure and we would not go through a season with this many brick layers on a team and definitely not go without a point guard. Stone had some really bad draft luck, if we got one of Cade or Wemby we're probably by default already a lot better than what we are now. To suck for all those years and not get a #1 pick just burned us and all the guys we did draft, people can look up the old threads, this forum wanted and were excited about...except Amen actually some thought he was too risky...the rest people rubber stamped and wanted.
The Lakers had the perfect example of that, they took Dalton Knecht, a good shooting prospect. Admittedly much older that is why there was no outcry. The NBA is brutal. He had the perfect coach in super shooter legend Redick and he was good in the first 2 months. But really quickly it went south, and they tried to trade him after half a year, that shook his confidence and he was never the same, due to him being slower player, cannot do nothing else whatevs..... This is the NBA where the shelf life is supposed to be 4-5 years and you are closer to China and Europe and an eternal GLeaguer.
he needs to drink and realize he is a man i am 22 but these zoomers are p*****s cuz they don’t drink.
Scoot Henderson was, quite literally, top 5 worst player I've seen in 15 years. Like out of the league in 4 years bad. That was with point guard master Chauncey Billups as his coach. The same faulty G League Ignite path of Jalen Green. A prime example of "pre draft hype" and highlight mixes overrating a player, making him go from a low ranked 4 star prospect to a #3 pick. But right now, Scoot is balling in the playoffs and past month. Maturity and burly big man coach Tiago Splitter has somehow found better use for him. Meaning, can give Reed another year to show something
door’s certainly not closed. Players grow and evolve. But all options should be on table for the sake of the franchise. Lots of tough decisions this summer. I do think Sheppard tries unfortunately he just isn’t good right now.
If you're that paranoid about him and Sengun playing together, then bring Reed off the bench. People here have this idea that they either need to be a star, or they don't belong on the team. We showed tonight what not having a solid bench does to a team. If you don't want Reed starting, then let him be the guy that comes off the bench to provide offensive firepower. It's not a "He starts or he gets cut" type of game here. Plus, I wasn't a fan of trading for Durant anyways, I could care less about what he wants. I tried pulling for Jalen, but he never panned out, so I was fine giving him up, but not for an aging player at the end of his days. I preferred rolling with the young core, add some shooters around Sengun/Reed etc, and see how we go from there, sadly that's not the route we took.
Was he 3rd? Could have sworn he was 4th, but I believe ya! But yeah, like I mentioned in my last post, people here either label you at a star, or you have to go. We need a good bench. Although I think Reed -could- be an everyday starter, him coming off the bench would help give us a bench we so desperately need.
First off Reed has been terrible this series but let's not pretend that he spent ANY time last year developing. And we all know the problems he faced this year. Now you're giving a 21 year old the ball and saying "he go be a star even though we thought you were ass almost the entire time you've been here". Comon now.. who can succeed like this?
Durant, a first ballot HOFer without similar physical limitations, struggled with the same thing throughout this season and in these playoffs. Is this a Reed problem or a coaching development and schematic problem?
