The Lakers are a 30-win team without Luka and Reaves.

We're down 3-0 to a 30-win team. We've never had a lead bigger than 4 or 5 points at any point in the series IIRC.

Surely this is seen as a catastrophe by Stone and Fertitta. There's no excuse for THIS level of losing. Surely without Durant we are every bit as good as a 30-win team. We can't be considered a 20-win team just because KD is out. Teams that are trying to lose/tank usually win 20 games.

Just shocked. I can't believe there are people saying they're proud of the young guys. This is a joke of an opponent.

 

for what it's worth, i just think IME is a really dumb guy. this team is not bad, just coached very poorly.

 

but sheppard lost the ball with 19 seconds left and up 3. Then missed a critical FT in OT. Let’s blame everyone else besides Sheppard. Holliday played 6 min today

 

I think it's all of the above. Stone is the biggest culprit in my opinion.

In hindsight, it presaged a number of other bad decisions by Silver and the owners collectively, such as the embrace of sports betting. Billionaires these days are f***ed in the head, delusions of godhood. All of them need to be reminded of their mortality, like that (not sure if apocryphal) slave in the Roman triumphs who would whisper "memento mori" to the general as he was feted. Unfortunately, we got one of the worst ones.
