You needed to bring another player back there in the backcourt for Sheppard to pass to . They came in and doubled him and turn him over . Come on Udoka

A point guard that cannot carry the ball to frontcourt alone is just embarrasing.

Yeah, I thought we might see Holiday and Reed - which would have negated their trapping.

Bro had Lebron on him. You have to help him no matter what. The lack of details with this team is staggering.

People can blame Jabari but they don’t even have a point guard for outlet. That’s basketball #101. Give it to the point guard. Everybody runs away from the ball because we don’t have a point guard.

It's both. A good PG should be able to get out of that situation without losing the ball but having an inexperienced second year less than good PG by himself getting trapped at the end of the game without help is also not good strategy.

    A similar play would be:

Team is on the 1 yard line, just kneel it… but no let’s shotgun play. Qb runs back 90 yards back to kill clock and the linebacker chasing him just intercepts ball and walks it in.

They have been turning the ball over on double teams and ball pressure all season long. Not just guards, sengun as well. And ime did nothing about it.

Reed was the point guard in the final minutes of regulation. He sucked as the point guard but that was not intense pressure and he turned the ball over before the trap was even set. A turnover off of the oldest trick in the book, that ball should have already been crossed to the other hand and Lebron would have swiped air.

Dude is too small, doesn't have good enough handles, and has been a streaky shooter in the playoffs. Sound similar to another guard we traded. At least he could defend (when he wanted to).

But hey continue with the excuses for why it wasn't his fault. The coach should have been out there dribbling for him.

It should have been holiday in instead of Reed … they poked the ball … holiday has better handles and would have been more aware. They literally just gave this game away . Still had 13 seconds and nothing was drawn up, just Sengun ISO .. just pathetic

Did they have s timeout? It seems like after the first stupid turnover, you might want to call timeout to get the ball past half court.

they had the ball at midcourt already, threw it back to the other side for Reed to stand on an island vs Lebron. All we needed was anyone to grab the ball and just hold it to get fouled. Make one free throw.

Let's see, out of a timeout - call a play that isolates skittish 21 yo Reed Sheppard in a high pressure situation 40 feet away in the backourt so that

LEBRON JAMES can have a free run at him to put his team over the top.

    LEBRON JAMES. Reed Sheppard.

That is what they drew up.

    LeBron James.

He had no one on him. All he had to do was to take a couple of steps forward but he made the worst decision possible.
