ClutchFans Game Thread: Lakers @ Rockets 4/24/2026 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 3)

WW3 coming up anyway so this game won't matter. Take some solace in that.

 

Its ok guys we'll tank another 5 years so that San Antonio and Dallas get rewarded with #1 picks.

 

Now we may get to see Batman likely Game 5, or 7. The NBA screwed us by giving the Lakers 2 days off in-between game. Keeping an empty brain in Jabari is going to haunt us.

Lebron likes to go to the left when 1 on 1. You better not fold in Game 3.

 

That careless turnover was the catalyst to everything going downhill. We were up 2 possessions with 30 seconds left. Idc that he had 24 points.

 

Pretty much the only time actual coaching adjustments really matter is in the final minutes/seconds...And we lose every. single. time.

 

I loved Bari this game but let us not forget that he decided to throw the pass in the first place.

 

We traded vibes as well. Suns look like they've been having fun. Those KD Suns teams had sad chemistry and went out pathetically in the playoffs

Now we have the miserable team

 

Why dosent Capela play much he's the only real shot blocker & has chemistry with Reed.
Why Ime abandoned the 2 big Lineup is crazy CC is a great offensive rebounder & lob threat

 

Can you believe DFS played in this game

 

Poetic justice to have this team lose a game like this.
Ime’s ineptitude putting in Tate, not calling a time out recognizing the time on the clock and settling team, yelling profanities at the screen as a head coach after the Tate foul, not calling a betting in bound play after 3 free throws, then the last play for Sengun in regulation. The city should boycott this team if there are no changes too to bottom

 

Dickerson quit on this team. Part of me doesn’t blame him.

 

Ime decided to play Tate. Ime drew up the play for Reed to catch the ball under the basket

Ime is 90% of this

 

And this is to also say, sure Stone could have done better.

We have no bench, our vets are hurt, we have no PG...all true and all FO decisions but...

In this moment, in this game, the coach made a poor decision. The ONLY way the Lakers get back into the game is if you foul them and they score without the clock moving. The ONLY way. THE ONLY WAY....

So why in the world are you putting in Tate who is a fouling machine? So what if Reed blows an assignment? The Lakers do not have enough possessions to win the game. Period. We saw this same **** with the Minny game. All you literally had to do was burn clock...

Okay say Bari still turns it over there...if Tate doesn't foul, it's still a FT/possession game that you should win.

 

I called it - in a sports bar with friends who don’t watch basketball… I lamented that “why is Tate in??” And they looked at me and I explained “90% chance this guy fouls and costs us the game”

Is anyone even excited about next season? I see nothing to look forward to with Durant still on the roster. In fact I fully expect a step back next season. All that rebuilding for nothing.

 

Everything about this team points to poor coaching. Fire Udoka and get him in the Landry's restaurant management program ASAP.

 

Define making this work? Beat the Lakers without Luka? Yeah not miles away.
Get past round 2? You are miles away and all the vets your GM used cap space on are old and injury prone… so unlikely to be healthy next year either.
