Exactly, team grades and boards can be entirely different than ones people see on websites and the talking heads.

I thought he was a guard. Why use him at center if we can draft one?

Supposedly can play both. Seen several scouts say this. Not sure if he’s played it before though.

The Athletic draft guide notes he was handling snaps at Senior Bowl practices and other pre-draft evaluations. If the Texans view him as a center, then he was probably the best center on the board.

He took snaps at OC in Senior Bowl, but I believe he was strictly a OG at GT. Here's what Brugler's mini write up says...

My nephew said we shouldn’t have traded up and should have selected the a&m guard.

RUTLEDGE was back and forth with PREGNON AT #2 and #3 amongst guards in the draft experts position charts

I'm just casually watching, but NFL Network guy was saying Rutledge was one of his favorite players in the draft or something because he plays until the end of the play. Said Rutledge's coach said he was the toughest player he's ever coached. They showed a lot of highlights that made him look like the greatest lineman ever. :D

A first for a center is unheard of

Considering we trade up right in front of SF, and then as soon as we got our pick in SF traded back, yeah there’s a good chance he would’ve been gone.

He is a guard and he has played center in practices but not in any games.

Are people speculating about him playing center because it’s been reported somewhere, or simply because we want a center?

I'm going to hold my opinion on the trade up and pick until I see the rest of the draft.
