Donald Trump defended his consumption of diet soda by suggesting it might help prevent cancer, according to recent comments shared by Mehmet Oz in an interview with Donald Trump Jr.
    ...
“Your dad argues that diet soda is good for him because it kills grass – if poured on grass – so, therefore, it must kill cancer cells inside the body,” Oz said on Triggered with Don Jr, the president’s eldest son’s podcast.
    ...
“You know, we were on Air Force One the other day, and I walk in there because he wants to talk about something, and he’s got an orange soft drink on his desk. He’s got a Fanta on the desk,” Oz said. “And I say, ‘Are you kidding me?’ So he starts to, like, sheepishly grin. He says, ‘You know, this stuff’s good for me – it kills cancer cells.’”

Oz, a cardiothoracic surgeon and television personality who now leads the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services also recalled Trump joking that Fanta, which is made with orange juice from concentrate, could not be unhealthy because it is “fresh squeezed”.

Don Jr responded by suggesting there might be something to his father’s habits: “But then maybe he’s on to something. Because I will say this: I know a lot of guys pushing 80, not a lot have his level of energy, recall, stamina.”
    ...
Trump has long defended his preference for sweet drinks and fast food as part of his approach to staying healthy. “He doesn’t want to get sick, so he eats junk food, but it’s food made in large, reputable chains because they have quality control,” Oz said on the podcast.

That's the main difference between him and his father, which likes people on the other end of the age preference.

I can't wait to hear Trump say he cut the price for a barrel of crude by 100% when it goes from $65 to $135 then land at $100.

$65 to $130 is 200% by Trump Math.

since $100 is half way between $65 and $135, it's half of 200%.

So $100 barrel of crude is Trump lowering the price of crude by 100%.

    I math good.

Three weeks ago, it was hide and delay what you don’t like. Now it’s suppressed.

April 9, NYT: The acting head of the CDC delayed publication of a research report showing that the COVID vaccine significantly reduced the likelihood of hospitalizations and ER visits last winter.

April 22: The CDC confirmed it won’t publish the report.

Even that logic is wrong, since it would be a 500% increase.

Are you racist if you don't remember saying it? :p

"I would have to see, hear the recording because I have no memory of saying anything like that," he testified, later adding, "If I said it, I apologize."

Selective memory runs rampant in the Trump administration, especially from the orange faced crazy man at the top.

Great, the HHS is led by not only an extremely ignorant and harmful person, but one who traffics in racial stereotypes. This also illustrates his lack of basic understanding of both medicine and history. Psychiatric medications such as Adderall, SSRIs, and benzos require a prescription. And we all know that white and wealthier demographics are prescribed these at significantly higher rates than minority populations.

In that one quote, he falsely proclaimed these medications induce violence and implied that Black kids are being drugged into violent behavior. This guy shouldn't be near any child, yet he's leading the HHS.

Maybe he and RFK Jr can go hunting roadkill together to jar up more racoons penises to study.

Trump Gives Don Jr.’s Turkey-Hunting Buddy Top Job

President Donald Trump has given his son’s hunting pal the reins of the Food and Drug Administration. Diamantas, whom Trump called “very talented,” does not have a medical doctorate, unlike most other past commissioners of the Food and Drug Administration.

Diamantas received his J.D. from the University of Florida in 2013, worked as an associate at the Baker Donelson law firm for nine years, and started as an attorney at the Jones Day law firm in 2021, becoming a partner three years later.

While a partner at Jones Day in Miami, Diamantas defended health technology manufacturer Abbott Laboratories in a lawsuit over the company’s failure to adequately warn patients of the heightened health risks surrounding its specialized baby formula.

The company lost the case and was ordered to pay $495 million, according to The New York Times.

RFK Jr. is about to dictate what preventive care is covered at no cost by insurance.

The real question is not whether vaccines will lose their coverage, or whether standard cancer screenings will be stripped away, but what questionable alternatives he intends to put in their place.

    NYT today:

The Trump administration has fired two leaders of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, an influential panel of experts who determine what medical screenings and preventive procedures insurance companies must cover for millions of Americans at no cost.

The move has heightened concerns among public health experts that Mr. Kennedy is politicizing the task force, which assesses scientific evidence and makes recommendations on a wide range of medical services, including mammograms, colonoscopies, depression screenings and more.

Aaron Carroll, the president of AcademyHealth, a nonpartisan group that promotes evidence-based health policy and previously urged Mr. Kennedy not to interfere with U.S.P.S.T.F., said the task force’s credibility depended on “transparent and rigorous procedures” both for appointing members and for evaluating evidence.

By firing its leaders before their terms had ended, the Trump administration is “tampering with the critical infrastructure” that makes it possible for Americans to trust government health care systems, Dr. Carroll said.
