atp, I feel like Japan, Canada, the UK, and a bunch of other nations are just biding their time until 2028 when hopefully the United States will be run again by adults and competent people

but if republicans are still holding onto power after that or Dems don’t gain enough power to really change anything, then they’ll fully divest from the US and China will become the new superpower

Iran is probably waiting until 2028 as well…you can’t negotiate anything serious with r****ded republicans…we have a president talking about how he saved 8 AI women

I understand your view but I honestly do not believe Americans can or do elect who they want in any semblance of a meritocracy. There’s no evidence. I understand that it’s hypothetically possible for Americans to choose someone who makes a difference.

TACOing is neither inherently good or bad. Although it's usually good. It's basically Trump not following through on threats. It originated with the ridiculous tariffs he was going to impose on the rest of the world that he kept dialing back and back.

    Why not both?

    Ceasefire = good

TACO = chaos, insiders milking taxpayers, no resolution, our nation looks dumb as f***

ALSO BAD: Our troops are stuck over there waiting for chaotic decisions that change day to day. And there is no endgame in sight.

TACO is usually a good thing. But it is a good thing because Trump has managed to talk himself down a blind alley from which there is no escape, so he must back out. What would be better than a TACO is if Trump would stop getting boxed into these blind alleys. Maybe make intelligent moves instead of always trying to bluff. Because everyone is paying attention and his moves get more predictable by the day.

Probably just softening up Iran's defenses for the eventual rescue of those 8 beautiful women scheduled to be executed.

Would be funny is Iran is now manipulating the market by placing huge bets then releasing fake reports of bombings. Lols

    Our dotard in chief...

Trump and the Iran Deal That Wasn’t
It’s tough to reach an agreement with a President whose word is not his bond.

Since Trump has thus far failed to achieve the peace deal that he—and the world’s financial markets—had anticipated by the end of his two-week ceasefire with the hard-line Iranian regime, the conflict has entered into a liminal state that Gideon Rachman, of the Financial Times, called “the fog of peace.” It’s a murkiness befitting a President who has conducted this conflict in the Middle East as a one-man smoke machine obscuring reality behind such a cloud of lies and disinformation that it’s difficult to imagine that even Trump himself could keep straight what is real and what is fiction. On Monday, he told the New York Post that Vice-President J. D. Vance was in the air, en route to Pakistan, to seal an agreement with Iran. But Vance had never left, and days later he still hadn’t. By Tuesday, after variously threatening to bomb all of Iran to smithereens and claiming that he was on the brink of a “FAR BETTER” deal to halt Iran’s nuclear program than any of his predecessors, Trump unilaterally announced an indefinite ceasefire.

As of Thursday morning, Trump was publicly demanding that the U.S. Navy “shoot and kill” any Iranian boat dropping mines in the Strait of Hormuz and then, half an hour later, insisting that “we have total control” over the “Sealed up Tight” strait. Also, the President wanted Iran’s leadership to know that he doesn’t need a deal; however, he might kill any Iranian negotiator who did not give him what he wanted. The bottom line appears to be that more negotiations may or may not take place in Pakistan soon and that there may or may not be an unofficial new Trump deadline of this weekend for Iran to come back to the table. Got that?

The female reporters have more guts than the men when it comes to asking him tough questions. That infuriates him, and of course he always talks nasty back to them. He's the disgrace.

The love for Israel is abnormal, but SF city hall does lights for other countries as well. So, it's normal for them.

We have 3 carriers in the Middle East now. I don't expect a ceasefire to last 3 weeks. Israel certainly won't stop bombing, ceasefire or not. They've been killing civilians in Lebanon the entire time. They are still killing civilians in Gaza. I have to hope for once in Trump's life he uses restraint. I have st have a sick feeling Hegseth and Netaynhu are in his ear privately urging him to just blow the country up in a surprise attack. I hope I'm wrong.

SF City Hall should probably read the room, or would they be celebrating “Germany Independence Day” during WW2?
