We're gonna be stuck watching a mediocre playoff team for the better part of the next decade so strap in. I can't believe Stone or whoever is in charge, Tilman Jr. probably, thinks we can compete with the likes of OKC in the playoffs trying to build around Sengun and Amen. Nearly everyone on CF was clamoring for a point guard instead of signing DFS this off-season but instead Stone was somehow dumb enough to ignore our need in that position. With Sengun and Amen both failing at developing a 3pt shot, we will have to choose between one of them to build around. Our offense looks absolutely horrid because we're trying to field a starting squad with two absolute non-shooters, sometimes even three when Ime wants to play double big with Adams. Any fan who's been paying attention to the league knows we were going to get completely exposed in the playoffs. Having FVV isn't just going to magically make us better than OKC and we don't even know how he'll look after recovery since he's on the wrong side of 30.
If things don't work out with Durant we'll have cap space. Fan impatience got us here, stop trying to make it worse.
thought we should have started the soft rebuild at the deadline. Sengun ---> Hornets for Miller + picks. Sengun is a perfect fit with Lamelo + Kon. Durant ----> Miami for Herro, Ware, maybe jovic or whatever 1st they have. Re-sign Tari to a 4 year 80 million dollar deal. Hire a new head coach that will bring some innovative offensive ideas. Reed (22) Miller (23) Thompson (23) Smith (23) Ware (21) ---- Tari (24) Fred (32) Herro (26) Adams (33) 1st round Pick is this a great team? No but I think this is good enough for 4-6 playoff seeding and gives us flexibility in the future with the warchest of 1sts to make another move if Thompson/Reed/Miller can't take another big step forward. We go from a packed paint to a thrilling 5 out run and gun offense that there's no doubt in my mind Amen would look fantastic in. This roster is extremely young after off-loading Durant and can spend the next 3 growing together while hoping we hit on another 1st round draft pick.

I'm not sure on salary matching, but I would like to see them do something like: KD to Miami for Ware and their 1sr round pick this year and matching salaries (wiggins?) Alpi to Utah for Ace and their first this year (if top 3 they likely would not do this) hopefully around 5 and whatever matching salaries are needed. Gives us Reed Wagler (pick I think would pair nicely with Reed) Ace Amen Ware Then Wiggins, Jabari, Miami 1st coming of the bench. Hopely between Wagler, Ace, Reed, Amen, we find a top 10 level player
The ads on this site are so janky now …I try to write a longer post and it crashes and I lose what I was trying to post lol So to be succinct before it crashes again….team doesn’t work well together and their weaknesses compound playing together. Putting the ball in the basket is a huge challenge for these guys. We airball wide open corner 3s by a foot or more. We hit the side of the backboard. I’m fine with blowing it up. I don’t think there’s a person on this squad that is gonna lead a team to the Finals…and if you don’t have that guy, you’re just playing make believe…hitting send before the goofy ads crash the site again.
I think it’s B by a mile. But I would trade anyone not named Amen and future picks to make sure I got Darius Acuff out of this 2026 draft. We have to identify a future star in this draft, and we have to do what it takes to get them. I doubt top 3 is realistic, but maybe we can get into the top 6. I think this draft represents our best chance to get a franchise player. I don’t want this front office making the pick though. I just dont trust them to get it right. Darius Acuff Jr.
Personally, I'd keep Amen and Reed, everyone else would be up for grabs. You're right, I wouldn't trust Stone and Ime to launch the redeux.
I find it inexcusable that we basically decided to punt the season when Fred went down. How TF do you not find a cheap replacement for someone that actually knows how to run an offense and perhaps even stretch the floor a bit? It’s not like they weren’t available either. Few guys off the top of my head… Any of these guys could’ve been had for cheap. D’Angelo Russell. Could’ve been had for cheap. $5.6m contract for the year. Mavs included as a throw in and Wizards wanted to waive him anyways. Malcolm Brogdon. Retired after signing a 1 year non guaranteed with Knicks. Spencer Dinwiddie. Left for the Euro league in October 2025 and was back in the states by January. That means he could’ve been had before the season and before the deadline. I know none of the options are super great but they would’ve solved a lot of our deficiencies/shortcomings and all 3 are better than anything we have/rolled out this season at the 1.
