You are letting Ime off the hook. A better coach could absolutely do better than this with this roster.

Do you know what prevents a team from becoming disjointed?

    a coach that doesn’t suck.

Do you remember how may times the spurs looked disjointed when pop was coaching? Never.

How may teams have looked disjointed with Ime as the coach? All of them. Literally all of them.

Every time Ime watches Reed play, he is looking for a reason to take him out. Unless Reed is hot from 3 point land, then Ime has a quick trigger to remove him. This does not instill confidence in Reed... which then affects performance. Bad coaching.

I think a lot of this has to do with Ime not wanting to be told what to do... and Stone and the fan base pushing for Reed to play actually further motivates Ime to not play him. This type of egocentric, toxic behavior by Ime is not what high quality coaches are made of.

Unless we win this Lakers series, we absolutely must move on from Ime as coach.

I'm not. He needs to go. Stone needs to go. Alpy needs to go. They took this cake out of the oven way too early. Ime needs to go coach in Memphis or New Orleans.

Also Durant needs to go. Bro has killed the culture of every team he's ever been on minus the Warriors who didnt even really need him.

Reed was getting abused out there but it wasn't like we were defending well with (checks notes...) Jae'Sean Tate and Aaron Holiday either. We were just giving up open threes to 45% - 48% three point shooters instead of open lanes to the basket. Reed wasn't making shots, but he didn't have a chance to get into any kind of rhythm, so it's hard to say what would have happened if he'd been given more rope. He was improving the spacing, ballhandling, and passing though regardless.

I'm not 100% sold on Reed Sheppard and have never been, but I'd definitely rather play him than a couple of guys who have no business seeing playoff minutes at all outside of garbage time.

Thing about Ime is hes not even a good defensive coach. He throws a bunch of "good defenders" out there and they still get beat because theres no real strategy on either side of the court.

Just a bunch of rah rah be tough and het it done.

this is not a bad shot if reed was confident in the shot imo. Reed does this sometimes on a fast break. This time he shot the ball because he had 2 on 1 rebounding. reed was trying to spark the team with that 3. No glaze here, but he does this. Shows me he is not scared to shoot. maybe a little glaze.

reed needs to launch or this stupid team has no chance.

1.2 pps there Reed. That is the same number of turn overs KD would have had if you passed it to him.

He wasn't even in the finalist list of the final 3, definitely not the runner up. The only player anywhere in the Rockets who made the finalist list for an award was Unc for "best team mate." Bootleg Ameiz (I guess Ameiz is the bootleg now) was a finalist for DPOY.

Reed has been getting absolutely stir fried on defense this series. That much is true. *BUT*.

If he's not on the floor this offense straight up doesnt function. Once Adams went down Ime should have just said **** it strap in losers and just gone full offense. Reed/Sengun/KD/Jabari should produce a functional offense. And yet it doesnt.

Does this really hold any value when everyone has been getting fried on defense?

Kennard and Smart have mostly been guarded by other players. This is the thinking Ime has been employing and there is a reason it has been blowing up on him

Look, it's a rule, when Amen or whoever gets cooked by Kennard or Smart, it's Reed's fault even if he's on the bench.

If a shooter thinks he's going to get benched if he doesn't make shots and therefore hesitates to take shots it breaks them. Reed shouldn't be forced to worry that if he misses a shot that Ime is going to play Holiday over him. SMH
