ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Lakers 4/21/2026 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 2)

This team would be better with Adams and FVV. Not going to say they would definitely win or anything, but it is very obvious the Rockets need a PG. Adams would likely be very helpful, too.

This is the way the Rockets look without FVV. This is what the FVV haters wanted except the results do not fit their narrative. As such, FVV haters will say he would not have made a difference.

 

Man you need to add three "extras" in front of Temu Joker.

 

I know next game will be rooting hard for the Rockets. I think the issue that most of us have is that there is no offensive scheme, they keep forcing the ball to other Kevin Durant or Sengun. When they double team, there is no movement besides the obvious pick and roll. A lot of you guys made excellent points about Kerr being a really good replacement. Lastly, I do believe that JD Davison would be a better spark plug off the bench since we literally have no bench to produce points. I wonder how much of the poor overall makeup of the team has something to do with Kevin Durant's burner account. For that I do blame Kevin Durant. I don't blame him for the 9 turnovers because there's no scheme to get him open or to react to when he gets double team. We've seen it two games now.

 

But he had a boo boo on his knee.

 

Scottie Brooks and Nate McMillan are smarter than Ime.

As bad as it is... we can either win 2 more times at home and make this a series or lose 2 more times and trade and fire who we need to. It's not up to us though... this team will ultimately have to decide.

 

They look broken in spirit to me. Would be surprised to see a turnaround at home at this point. But even if they recover mentally, it seems like Ime genuinely has no answer for double teams/clogging the paint. Hope I'm wrong.

 

Glad I don't follow this team now. 0 - 2 already.

This series is over. The only question now is will it be a genuine or gentleman's sweep?

 

For the first time in 3 decades I'm considering not watching Rockets playoff basketball.

This team is not entertaining and brings me no joy. Its bizarre how bad we are, and that comes down to coaching. Yes, we don't have FVV and Adams, but we CHOSE to not find a PG after FVV went down, and we CHOSE to lean on offensive rebounding as a crutch, and we didn't gear up for what we needed. No half court game plan, defensive energy is gone, we no longer run.

Its heartless, listless basketball, and I was so upset last night I just sat there in silence. It was worse than Game 1, and G1 was bad.

I've taken breaks in the regular season as I've gotten older, but this is different.

Also, KD may be a cancer. Incredible offensive talent, no doubt how we somehow have 50+ wins, but ever since he came our demeanor changed, and all the young guys do is lean on him.

I'm not blaming this on him, but as much as I respect his game, he may be a chemistry killer.

They probably need to go small. Play Jeff Green instead of Tate. You can’t win with three non-shooters on the floor the same time.

Fvv fking sucks. We needed an actual pg not one that cant draw pressure and create shots for his teammate. He's only good for ball handling/ball security and the occasional 3.

 

Kd passing to Sengun when we were down 5 with 50 seconds to go was SO dumb. Take the shot. Thats literally why we brought you here…

Been watching since ‘The Shot’ in 86 when I was a kid. This is the least that I’ve cared about this team in my entire life. There’s no fire, desire, no heart, they have quit and so have I.
