Worst part about all this is the trade value. Everyone can shout from the rooftops that we have to trade Sengun but who in their right mind would want him on his current contract after watching this series? How would we even trade him? Is he a negative asset?
Cut bait for a defensive center, team should be able to score, I think Jabari given these shots would do just a well or better. Alpi for that Jazz center that player with Jabari in college + any negative assets to make the money work.
I don’t blame him, I think he tried hard but he is just not good enough. I can see him out of the league in three years, I am serious.
“Get him off the 3pt line and in the post!” *Gets in the post* *Proceeds to brick from point blank range.* No one is playing post basketball in 2027. @SamFisher is right. Just do the thought exercise. Go through every team. The list is short.
His trade value is definitely not at an all-time high but he is far from negativ value. If anything, it's possible that his struggles make him even more interesting for teams who might see potential in him and want to buy low. But yeah you are probably not going to get a good return for him, unless he turns it around and leads the team to the second round. But even if that happens, it's clear that he is the wrong player for Udoka and Udoka is the wrong coach for him. And I feel like the team is going to choose Udoka over him. Udoka will be here as long as the team reaches the playoffs. And no, barring injuries, he will not be out of league in three years. This is a total overreaction.
Sam is 100% spot on. I understand why fans are obsessed with thinking Alpi is the guy because it's been so long since we have had a guy here. But yeah. He is a good player but they should be looking to deal him if they can potentially get a pick in this draft.
I said his contract was one of the worst contracts in the league as soon as the extension was signed. I was ridiculed by everyone here. Jalen had the highest potential for stardom out of all of our young players and we should have prioritized his development.
I’d say the Pelicans might’ve been dumb enough to give up Trey Murphy for him, but unfortunately, they already have the melanated version of Sengun in Derik Queen I’m sure teams like the Bulls, Nets, maybe even the Hornets would be interested…what they have to give up, Idk
Sengun is a 6th man. Just like Jalen was. The key this offseason is to convince a team (Blazers, Jazz) that he could be the piece if you surround him with shooters. Scoot Henderson looks better than him now though.
He’s gotta get the bully ball back down from 3 out of his bag. It’s been ineffective all season and there’s a reason no one else does it besides Jokic, and even he mixes it up with his approach.
You can't BULLY anyone when there are 3 - 4 guys packing the paint........this is a system and org fail, if you want Sengun to have space, he needs 3pt shooters all around him.....same for Amen. We are doing it wrong. DD
look at the bright side folks, Alpi's gonna have plenty of time to get ready for Euroball season this year
I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR YRS! To me if the Rockets had JG and any defensive center who is a LOB THREAT, rather than Sengun, the Rockets would be up 2-0. We need a wing scorer that can take the pressure off of KD. Jabari is doing his part but Sengun is so ineffective, he's not putting enough pressure on the defense to give KD a chance to be freed up I think Sengun would be a good fit with Charlotte or Miami but he definitely need to get out of here and STONE NEEDS TO BE RIGHT BEHIND HIM
Look how they are packed in the paint, this should be a drive and kick out to a 3pt shooter, but we don't play our shooters. DD
