I now believe you can build a team around him.... I was wrong - always liked him but did not see him being THIS good, now if he can get a consistent 3 ball superstardom awaits. DD
I have liked Sengun for a long time, same for Whitmore.....there is no jinx....only narrative. LOL DD
Poor Cam... jokes aside - for once I actually agree with you here DD and hope by the end of the season we'll see Cam in a more prominent role over Jalen.
The Super power of Sengün is he has that Harry Potter Magic Wand n Shield spell against DD Curses....
Our "all star" is shooting 38.3% against the lakers: Why 38% is particularly "bad" for a center Shot Distance: Centers typically take most of their shots near the basket—high-percentage looks like layups, dunks, and post-up hooks . An elite big man is expected to shoot 50–60%+ from the field . Positional Benchmark: While a 38% FG% might be "passable" for a guard who shoots a high volume of difficult 3-pointers, it is a "stinker" for a primary interior scorer . Comparison to Peers: Other elite centers in the 2026 playoffs, like Nikola Jokić, typically maintain FG efficiencies well above 55% . Series Impact: Şengün's efficiency has dropped from his regular-season average of 52.2% to just 38.3% in this series . This drop-off is a major reason why the Rockets currently trail the Lakers 0–2, as teams that win the FG% battle win nearly 80% of the time. Even AI is prompting it is a "stinker", you cant make this sht up
I NGE Not good enough Fans defended him. Propped him up. He’s been inconsistent and poor at times. Now they have turned on him.
This take on Sengun was a bullseye. In 2022 it surely felt harsh, maybe even a little over the top, but then you revisit it later, line by line, and realize it was mapping out concerns that a lot of people just didn't want to come to grips with yet. And that's the fascinating part, how easy it was for so many to wave it off. People don't just evaluate what's in front of them, they defend what they've already decided to believe.
In his defense he’s improved his scoring in the paint and range although his range is still very much limited to 12-13 ft. Maybe slightly in defense. But to me he makes too many mental mistakes whether it’s missing open players on the perimeter, turnovers, stupid fouls, missed FT’s. He’s not a smart player or mentally sound. That traveling call during the 3rd or 4th possession of the game in game 1 pissed me off. How are you not mentally together to travel on your first touch of the game in such a critical game? That to me says it all
No one has been good enough..... Both KD and Sengun have struggled because of the defense focusing on them. Sengun is 5th in the NBA unassisted points, ahead of Durant who is 7th. It's pretty crazy how much offense Sengun is able to generate as a center without any help. Amen isn't anywhere close to being able to generate his own points unassisted and we have very little shooting. Smart FOs will see the underlying numbers
