Sengun playing like ass, and yet somehow we’re getting killed with him on the bench. we’re just ****ed either way
all you fanbois look stupid as sh*t B-b-but he played well against the Pelicans, he figured it out!!! getting locked up and b*tch slapped by freaking Ayton and scrub big Jaxon Hayes
I think Udoka blasting him for missing that 3-pointer affected his confidence; now he’s afraid to shoot a 3, players are backing off him and just waiting for him to get within 5 feet and take a baby hook; pretty much all he’s doing now. I really wanted him to be who I hoped he could be, but I just don’t think it’s going to happen. I was hoping what we saw after the back rest perhaps was a turning point, but unfortunately that seemed to be part of the typical ebbs and flows that he has. If he had the threat of even a midrange shot it would open up things for him but his shot is so wonky and so unnatural I have a hard time seeing that improve. I’ve said it before, I don’t think Turkish basketball does a good job preparing guys for NBA level shooting, particularly big guys. With the exception of Mehmet Okur, they have a lot of taller guys who cannot shoot. Sengun, Asik, Ilyasova was meh as well. Even Turkogku was a low percentage shooter.
and enough with blaming the coach, all his teammates, and these pathetic excuses about him “losing his confidence” and whatever other garbage y’all say his ankle must be acting up this series… gimme a break
Hedo Turkoglu was one of the best clutch players of his era though, especially in the playoffs. Even if he wasn't a great shooter percentage-wise, he was always a threat to take it and thus the defenders always played him tight, which allowed his ball-handling to shine. Alpi needs SOME form of perimeter shooting. Like you said, people are just backing up and that neutralizes his handles and wiggle to some extent. Most of all, he just needs to play better.
Honestly, it's a stain on the NBA that he was even selected to an all-star game. He is not an all-star caliber player.
I don’t even think he was that bad this game. He was pretty bad to start the game. Had some wild misses that were uncharacteristic. But he played much better in second half. I don’t get why they think they have to double LeBron when Senguns on him. Just let him take the three and take your chances. You would think he went like 6-20 again the way this board is flaming him. KD was just as bad in second half as sengun was in the first dude had 9 turnovers…..
They guarded him like he was prime Kareem or sth. They didn't let him post up once, swarmed him like insects. JJ likes Sengun a lot. He knew he was our engine.
He's gotta go. There's a whole lot of fail to go around in this series, but he is giving us next to nothing from the post and the Lakers aren't even making an extra effort to stop him there, just one regular dude with an occasional help defender. Pretty basic defense. B**ch ass Draymond shut his ass down last season also. I could tolerate the poor post scoring if he did literally anything else for us, but he's actually a liability in basically every other facet. The offensive creation is "supposed" to be his strength
Lmao shut the hell up. You people sound effing nuts. He missed wide open lay ups and couldn't hit a open jumper if his life depended on it.
Did you even watch the game? They didn't let him post up even once. Their entire game plan was to take him out of the equation and your coach couldn't do anything about it. He didn't have a good game but that's largely because Ime sucks and we don't have a point guard.
I’m sorry man, I just don’t agree. This is the worst 20/11/5 performance I have ever seen. And I say this as someone who believes in Sengun. He needed a huge bounce back game. He needed to absolutely dominate tonight. And what did he do? Come out soft once again. The flaming is deserved at this point.. as sad as it is to say.
We're being real. You guys don't even see what's right in front of you. Their entire game plan was to take him out of the equation they didn't even let him post up once. The moment he got the ball they swarmed him. He didn't have a good game because he missed easy shots but he never really had a chance to have a good game because Ime and Stone are actively sabotaging this team. That's the part you guys are missing.
He had a very bad start and was okayish mostly afterwards. The whole team created literally nothing. He was +1 in a loss and would have looked much better if his passes resulted in 3s that would have given momentum to the rockets. Overall I think it is pointless to discuss specific players at this point. The team needs a new coach, an pg and a roster modification.
