Remember when we messed with our starting lineup towards the end of the season for no reason?

It seems like changing your lineup 3 games before seasons end when you finally hit your stride isn't a great idea

Udoka will not do what's best fot the team. He would rather lose and play guys that validate his NBA career like tate

Reminder that this guy is the worst rockets coach of all time. Stop with the Silas and McHale comparisons..he's far worse and has destroyed player development we spent seasons tanking to get

    Losing record since

He needed to ruin Reed's rhythm

16-4 when Reed starts. Might as well keep him on the bench. Udoka may be the reason I stop caring after 30 years.

Honestly I was fine with Reed not starting as long as he got his minutes and finished games like he did way back when in the middle of the season, but to play him 10 minutes when your team is turning the ball over..and over....and can't hit a 3 to save their lives, why would you not play him? Yes, he didn't hit his shots, but you know what he is capable of, and you know what Tate, hoiday, and Okogie are capable of. I'd much rather go out swinging with an actual point guard that can find open players, than refusing to play him.

Reed is completely overmatched in this series. So is Holiday. Their combined shooting was 0-7 in game 2.

Any minutes from Reed, Holiday, Tate and Clint are wasted, useless minutes.

As bad as it seems being down 0-2, things can change when the series returns here. At some point the Lakers will slack, the Rockets will play hard for 48 minutes and be less stupid.

I'm not gonna care until he gets fired.
When fans actually sees more than the head coach and cares more about the team. Its not worth watching the game and ruin our days.

crazy take, if you insert someone 2 minutes at a time how are you going to expect they are anything but useless? Its almost like we have evidence over an 82 game season to tell us the story for the question yo uare asking.

but yes, contrary to 82 games, Sheppard is useless minutes...when we can't get Durant the ball and they keep doubling him and playing the same game the spurs and every other team started to play when defending this team..that we solved with sheppard.

You are making an argument against what worked great, to come up with a hypotehtical on 10 minutes of sporadic play (yes sheppard sucked I agree) to come to a conclusion.

Thats lazy brother i like your takes but this is pure stupidity

If Reed would've scored his average of 13.5ppg we would've won...I think Ime will need to go back to Reed starting game 3 to open the court more for KD and Sengun to operate...I understand why he's starting Okogie to prevent LeBron for getting his switches, but damn we're down 0-2!
Might as well shake up the lineup and try something different!

Reed played 10 minutes, and in those ten minutes his longest consecutive minutes played was 4. We were 16-4 ....16.....and 4....with him as a starter, and all of the sudden out of no where he's unplayable? I just don't agree with that at all. We turned the ball over like crazy, why would you not try and have an actual point guard in there? Maybe then Durant wouldn't have to bring it up every single time just to get trapped?

Because according to @A_3PO he was getting burned on defense...oh wait no all those open dunks were on everyone else

So it seems like we keep operating under the illusion that we are getting good defense but in reality we are not just neutering Sheppard...we're killing Durant and Senguin getting open

Or just play freaking zone when Reed is in the game if you're (I'm talking about Ime) that worried about his defense. It's not rocket science. You need people that can shoot in the game when KD is being trapped. Yes, he shot bad tonight, we all can agree with that, but do you trust Tate/Holiday/Okogie/etc with an open 3 more than Reed? Also not to mention Reed actually makes players stay with him instead of leaving them completely open like Amen/Sengun/Tate do. It's just flat out stupid to not play him solid minutes tonight. I really don't get it.

But what about the need for Okogie to stand in the corner for 3? Clearly more important

    - Ime probably

Sheppard isn't a good defender, people act like we are out here saying he is, but there are better ways to hide him, and like you said, not every freaking point scored when Sheppard is in the game is on Sheppard. People like to act as if it is, but it's just not true. Play zone when Reed is in the game if you're terrified of his defense one on one, but in a series where you aren't hitting 3's, and turning the ball over constantly, to bench your 4th overall pick that can actually shoot (Yes he shot horrible tonight), and can actually find open players with out turning it over should be a crime against humanity.

Udoka is the main problem. Redick has his team prepared, purposeful and amped up. Udoka's Rockets are confused, a step slow and not on the same page.

IMO, something isn't right in the locker room. It's the playoffs and the team looks way more discombobulated than normal.

Having KD bring the ball up the court against pressure from Marcus Smart is pure stupidity. That is the last thing he needs to expend energy on.

Yeah but even then he only took 4 shots spaced over extremely short stints. I wouldn't expect any player to hit a rhythm like that. Let alone a young player. He was moving the ball after his initial stint where he was hesitant. They went on a 9-0 run and looked like a decent offense for a spell then he was immediately pulled. I have not been this dissatisfied with a coaching staff ever. I had more fun watching the Silas teams than this abomination.
