Thought you meant 7 years of rebuilding.

No good alternatives from the Nets except the usual assets, picks, and cap space that could be deployed.

I mean kinda.... Cavs and Houston were both teams that had already tossed a lot of assets at competing around Lebron and Harden but Cavs started tanking in 2018 after Lebron left. Cavs drafted Sexton, Garland, Okoro, and Mobley with their top ten picks and opted to use their players and picks to get Mitchell and then Harden.

Detroit has been perpetually rebuilding since 2010 with two playoff appearances since last season. And as good as they look, they got upset in game 1 and have major flaws (shooting).

SAS just got lucky with getting an actual generational player.

fair. In addition to Cade I think Jalen Duren is pretty good. Cleveland went out and got a franchise player in Mitchell. So both teams at least have franchise guys. We don’t. But fair to say that we may be better at managing our cap than Cleveland or that Detroit got lucky with Cade. I just think it starts with getting a franchise guy. So I guess I was giving that the most weight.

I think ayo is a type of player you should try to keep. You are telling me we can't spare one pick?

Took a chance? We wouldnt be able to keep them since they are UFA. Any assets you use to get them would be wasted.

And for what? Lose to OKC anyway? Are White and Ayo beating OKC? If they are that good they wouldnt even be traded.

    lol Nah.

This post is good in theory but ridiculous in reality.

First of all the Rockets are capped out, they are paying Sengun, Jalen and DBrooks big bucks even if they let every free agent go for nothing they would only have 14M in capspace left.

In that situation Adams tells you he resigning for 2 yrs 12M. Will you say no? lol Just look at his production that is well worth 12M. And like I said even if you let him go you wont have capspace back anyway. Just 14M cap in total they still need a center and PG.

FVV is Ime's boy. Nuff said he aint going anywhere.

KD allowed you to dump Jalen and Brooks for just the 10th pick and got you a superstar in return.

In short these moves are moves any good GM will do unless they are tanking. We can resign Adams and FVV due to bird rights and the alternative is just 14M total in capspace. Why will any GM let them and that capspace utilization for nothing?

Stone did **** up getting DFS instead of someone better and younger but at.least he is expiring next year.

haha doomerism = the options you are setting up.

Lets continue in your scenario. What is the timeline of this project? what are the milestones we should be hitting and when?

Im fine with your narrative (success is not the same to everybody) as long as it has clear goalposts. We did not create the phase 2 narrative, it was leadership setting expectations, we are just holding them accountable.

Anything can happen in the playoff. What if okc gets hurt we don't know.
You basically are saying okay let's just waste a year of kevin durant. He doesnt have much time left.

Anything can happen isnt a good argument. Did you spend all your money buying lotto tickets? Anything can happen.

What if the most likely scenario happens? We just wasted assets on a rental, lose to OKC anyway and you'd still be here complaining how we made a dumb trade for nothing.

Not really. Any team will make mistakes if you look at it in hindsight. Even Presti could have done more optimal moves if only he could see in the future.

We aren't that bad, we have some games when we can match up with anyone. We are just missing a piece.

No but I think ayo is a better fit for us. Exactly we could have maybe trade a pick and some dead salary for something. Way before the deadline stone said he wasn't going to do anything

Please don't put Stone in the same conversation as Presti...
