Would love it if he could manifest that sort of career. Billy had wheels for days, but hit for a lot more average and less walks. I was thinking more Joey Gallo, if he stole bases and hit like 15-20 homers instead of 40.
His comps right now are not great. Guys like Nolan Jones, Garrett Mitchell, James Outman, Davis Schneider. Fringey regulars or 4th OF. But this is just his 2nd full season and he’s only 23 so it’s worth giving him the whole of this year to see if maybe he improves.
It could be argued the AAA guys we signed and promoted aren't ready given their MLB track records. But I suppose they are place holders. We know Cole is out for a while. I don't think I've seen an update on Meyers.
Wonder how much longer the leash will be with Weiss. There was obviously something they liked when they signed him, but he has not impressed in the slightest. On the brink of pitching us out of another game with his inability to find the zone.
