I don’t like empty stadiums and I don’t like hearing drunk assholes get their constant jeering off clearly (which only happens in quiet, empty stadiums). Not that I have to explain myself to you, but I’ll let you have this one…
I forgot about Biggio. I wonder if we'll trade for another AAA guy for Trammell. I wonder how far off DeZenzo is from returning.
No, I was really curious why you cared how many people were in Cleveland's Stadium. And no, you don't have to explain yourself or the team to me.
Easy to not post many stats (because they're ugly) but the doctor ordered Spaghetti. He owns the Astros last 2 wins -- they lost EVERY game in between -- and he's worked Houdini enough for an awesome ERA and 2 wins in two games.
Judging by how bad Cecconi was for the Guards today, I'd expect the Astros to try to acquire him before the deadline. 6.2 ERA seems to fit right in with what we're doing this year.
Yep, just getting one more young pitcher as good as Arrighetti would give the Stros enough to have a chance to win the division. Is there anybody down on the farm?
Hell of a win on a cold ass night.......the Astros are a good team if they can get any pitcher to go 5 innings and 2 run ball, my gosh the bar is low, but at least let the SP go at least 5 and maybe we can pull out of this tailspin Another night and another injury..............didn't we get a new medical staff and somehow were MORE injury prone then last year??
You just have to run Matthews out in CF every day for the next few weeks, come what may. Continuing to try and hide him on the MLB roster is a waste of everybody's time.
He’s hurt. CJ Alexander would be my pick. But Matthews should play everyday until Loperfido comes back which should be late next week.
Unfortunately, I agree with this. Hit him 9th and hope. Worst case scenario they will have a better idea if he is MLB viable in 2026 (or ever) and will be better prepared to decide what to do with him for the rest of the season. FTR I have never seen a player whiff on pitches in the middle of the plate more than he has so far.
I was a fan ( in theory) of Ullola , but having seen him throw this spring , i think hes still got a ways to go . For someone touted as having a great fastball , it certainly didnt look overpowering in velocity or movement . IMO not on the level of javier or garcia when they were coming up . I still love Garcia lol . Is there a chance wesneski comes back before september ? I feel like blubaugh , weng , pearson , weiss, and alexander are who we got
Matthews has an extremely good chase rate so far, yet he also has one of the worst whiff rates in the league. If you are swinging at good pitches and just not connecting with them...I'm not sure how you fix that.
Both Wesneski and Blanco will be 15+ months past TJS by early September. We have to consider the Astros return to play history, but there have been returns as soon as 12 months. Theoretically, Ronel and Hayden COULD both be back by the ASB but I have not heard an update or timetable. Best to not hope for 2026 at all.
