I Just got home from an event and unfortunately I missed the whole game. I came home and asked a family member to find out not only did the Rockets lose, but Kevin Durant didn’t play. Without checking up on any sources. The 1st thing I did is come to clutch fans because I just knew that someone made a thread about how this was a conspiracy. To my surprise nobody did, so I’m doing it. Clearly this is the NBA making a call to rig the series to give Lakers a fighting chance. This loss was TOO PERFECT from a conspiracy side. It pretty much was free money to people that bet against the game, who I’m sure was not a lot of people. It extended the series and gave Lakers a fighting chance which is what the NBA wants. Now everyone will put money on the Lakers or it will atleast balance the books & odds more so it’s not free money to bet on the Rockets. I think Rockets still win this series, but the NBA & Vegas couldn’t afford for it to be a landslide victory and sweep. Sidenote, the Rockets are just willing participants in all this Bullshit, but regardless they STILL shouldn’t lose to the Lakers unless they were literally mandated by the league to lose. The only scary thing is minus the back to back champion Rockets and this last decade Astros Dynasty, Houston Sports teams are known to choke, so if this goes on too long or they lose again it is VERY Likely they will choke this series away.
Never seen a player that is able to move and looks fine in pregame dont play.. especially in the playoffs
The biggest tell to me was the fact that even with Durant out, Tari didn't start. What an absolute joke.
While I am all for conspiracies and I do believe refs have biases that is not why Rockets lost tonight. They lost because piss poor coaching with players who shoot worse than the fans who do those challenges to win money during between quarters. I saw no real gameplan tonight.
i really think it can go either way.. it's really is too suspicious. rockets reverted all they way back to trash ball. they haven't looked this bad in a long time.
The things people sitting in front of computer screens in their underwear come up with to put on the Internet never fails to amaze me. Dude is 37 and banged his knee in practice. Occams razor. If he played and played terribly or God forbid came out of the game with a worse injury, the same people screaming about a conspiracy would be calling for Stone/Ime/the training staff's heads. Give it a rest.
There’s no conspiracy lol. I could make the argument we still lose even if KD played. Our “young core” is nothing but glorified role players. It looks like KD injury is worse than they are saying. This season is over I’d be surprised if we win 2 games this series. Interested to see what this team plays like next year with Fred.
Highly level headed evaluation of the current predicament however despite the hardship the Rockets have the Rebounding advantage and the Lakers aren't shooting 40% from 3 every game.... This definitely going the distance depending if Luka comes back early. This said, the Rockets style of ball is both taxing and uninspiring, Stone the tedious GM is full of crap rooting for that.
Yea, not only is this "young core" just a bunch of role players they're a bunch of flawed role players that can only play a specific way and aren't a great fit with each other. I can deal with you being a weak defender if you're a dominant scorer. You can't brick all your hook shots on some weak Lakers defense AND let them score on you. Please pick a struggle. I'm not overly impressed with any of these guys. I would trade everyone for picks.
