DREW v. STATE (2002) Court of Appeals of Texas,Houston (14th Dist.). Jonathan David DREW, Appellant, v. The STATE of Texas, Appellee. https://caselaw.findlaw.com/court/tx-court-of-appeals/1068184.html
Well - will just say this. Someone that can invite and man and woman into his car, then wait until the man starts to get out.......... and gun the truck to take the women, rape her in his car and then drive around with her dying in her truck with head trauma and bleeding naked..... probably has done things like this a number of times. Not only is there the risk of the surviving male, but to drive around with the passed out naked and bleeding woman in your truck is pretty metal.
The testimony from the trial is intense definitely a serial rapist and violent murderer -- some bizarre things happened while he lived on Calder Rd. But besides that it's another crazy murderer living next to the killing fields.
Ah...didn't follow that thread. Where can I read more? I lived over there in the 1990s. Literally on the street (the 'bird' streets in League City) of one of the victims, a few streets from another one, about a quarter mile from the actual killing fields. My girlfriend at the time brought a Ouija board home and it behaved in a way that made me believe that there was something to the supernatural. https://maps.app.goo.gl/fkZBLa7gz4FqkmHQ6
Hard to find stuff now it's been quite a while since I've looked at it -- you have to register to access the testimony, but I know it's posted in full online multiple times. It's just a matter of finding an old working link (or registering if you are really interested). Brief AI summary: Forensic Evidence: When Drew’s truck was pulled over, police found Flood naked, unconscious, and bloody in the front seat. Searches of Drew's home later uncovered women's clothing and a vial of human teeth. Other Victims: Four women testified that Drew had sexually assaulted them, and three others testified they were physically attacked by him. https://www.hcdistrictclerk.com/edocs/public/search.aspx#gsc.tab=0
Houston had a really dark underbelly in the 1970's and 1980's. A lot of crime-- lot of serial killers were living in Houston and most haven't been discovered or identified. People moving in and out of Houston.... Truckers going from Mexico to Canada would cut through Houston.
I experienced that once and it was terrifying. A family member (family that my brother married into) used to carry an Ouija board in her trunk and it wasn’t Parker Brothers. It was insanely creepy. She told my Mom one night that in our family I was the one who had the most “intuition” or whatever she called it…but said, “yeah but he’s so into God he won’t lean into it.” Just wild lol…and that’s not even the Irish side of my family
The era of the mass serial killer is coming to the end, thanks to advances in forensic and genetic science, advanced DNA collection techniques, data bases, smartphones, digital trails, and widespread security cameras. Just a few years ago, Bryan Kohberger could have got away with his crimes for a long time, and have become a more prolific killer. But the science caught up to him. as with others.
