It would be one thing if Diaz was still considered to be the future at the position, but with Janek inching closer to being called up (most likely next season), then it really doesn't matter what Diaz does atm (Unless obviously he went off and hit 30 homeruns or something, which we can all safely say won't happen), so Vasquez should get a' bit more playing time atm.
- Arrighetti shines - offense does enough - bullpen closed it (Abreu didn't suck, De Los Hader) - b2b dubs - Astros end their 5+ runs surrendered streak - 7-game home winning streak
Winning streak! Go get the sweep tomorrow. Hopefully this was the real Arrighetti. We will need him going forward.
The one thing I’m not going to do is piss and moan when we win. Great win tonight. Nice to be back in the good column a couple days in row no matter how we get there. I’ll take our good luck in wins over a physically dominating loss every day.
Yordan has more home runs in the first nineteen games of this season than he did all of last season (48 games total).
WAR is a completely nonsense stat in some respects. No amount of defense can overcome how futile his bat is, tonight notwithstanding. If you had an entire lineup of Nick Allens (adjusted to whatever the appropriate battings skills would equate to for his offensive WAR for each position, and same with defense), you would have a really, really, really bad baseball team. But WAR claims you'd have whatever wins above replacement, which is nonsense. I don't want him playing. There are guys in Sugarland I'd rather have on the team. There's a guy in Atlanta I'd rather have on the team. This is like the Michael Bourn for whatever older crackhead CF we got back trade, I can't recall his name at the moment. I can't stand it. But good for Nick Allen for getting 2 hits tonight.
