How was it really taken out of context though... if we were to say it in Spanish is it any different??? Lol trippin.
I really believe we live in an era where people see a few words on twitter and buy into it as truth with no context or understanding. I don’t believe many watched the full presser. Either that or as I said, they already distrust and hate the guy so everything out his mouth is questioned and seen as negative or untrustworthy
We took Morey for granted tbh Had a perfect seared medium rare steak to tune into most nights now we got a Morton’s well done caked in A1 sauce with leftovers used to repair tires
you may be right about the Twitter era, but Stone has made his own bed. He hasn’t taken responsibility for any of his mistakes (not even KPJ), he’s evasive and even standoffish with the press, at worst he lies, at best he’s intentionally misleading. He’s defensive and egotistical. I don’t blame folks for not watching the entire press conference because it’s really hard to listen to the guy talk.
It is a continuation of a pattern with Stone. He seldom if ever takes any accountability- and that is not a coincidence. He always finds away to have an out. I remember him saying not to judge him on the Harden trade until 9 years after the trade. He claimed he would do the Oladipo trade again. He in the past has blamed injuries for ruining the Rockets season. Then he says what he said at the deadline, and has the audacity to blame the media and fans for what he said? He is the one that said why he said, is completely without any social awareness or timing about what he says. While I respect your opinion and explanation, he said what he said and it’s just typical SOP for him - all to avoid any blame and insulate himself.
I’ll agree with that. I don’t like how he isn’t direct sometimes and ends up using a lot of words as if he’s skirting something. But I give him the benefit of the doubt. Don’t agree with everything he does but let’s see what he does this summer.
In that latest chron interview knowing what he knows now he said he’d do the DFS signing again too. lol. How can anyone take this guy seriously?
No doubt. Daryl was charged with an almost impossible task..reloading on the run (no rebuild), and taking down one of the great dynasties. And, he did it. It took the NBA and a CP3 injury to stop us. No margin for error. unlike Stone...
Stone could have had Coby White on a silver platter, but just like the prior 6 years sat on his arse and made zero moves at the deadline. Awful, awful, awful lawyer/gm.
I like how he said we interpreted it as opposite of what he said. Ok….so “maybe this is not our year” means “maybe this is our year”????
Can’t be focusing on championships when you’re hanging onto your job for dear life. I mean let’s be real, what other team would hire this jamoke as their GM? Freakin Tim Purpura of nba GMs man.
Never seen a guy who is a top executive that exudes passitivity like him.... Always questioned if he even understands professional basketball......he should GM AAU teams.
A simpleton that cannot even admit mistakes..... these are fundamental and rudimentary flaws....he is done.
We are very lucky to have Durant playing the second most minutes in the league and still standing up going into the playoffs. Is this just our year?
The dude is a lawyer... of course he deflects blame while refusing any responsibility... again, he's a lawyer.
If Morey is so good why are the Sixers worse than the Rockets? The Morey worship is outstanding to me. You realize he just gifted OKC Mcain for our own worthless 1st round pick? Everyone here so mad about DFS contract which will be expiring next year while Morey just gifted Embiid and Paul George 5 yr max deals and he is the perfect medium rare steak. Gimme a break dude. Everybody acts like Stone tanked for a decade to rebuild this team. Its 3 ****ing years bro. Morey spent 5 yrs wallowing in mediocrity before he managed to trade for Harden.
Perhaps your feelings about Stone are coloring your interpretation of what he says in the worst possible way, because those things are quite reasonable. It's been five years since the Harden trade, which was for future draft capital. Not all of it would have conveyed by now, even if we hadn't traded some for future picks from Phoenix and Dallas. The 2026 pick and 2027 swap would still be outstanding. How would we judge the trade when a third of the picks haven't conveyed and Reed is a sophomore? Nine years is valid timeframe to judge a trade like that. It's not like he said it about the KD trade. He said he would do the Oladipo trade again on March 30th, 2021. Oladipo was traded on March 25th. Did you expect Stone to say that he totally regrets the trade with the benefit of five days of hindsight? I haven't heard him blame injuries for ruining the Rockets season. Not in this press conference and not elsewhere. I honestly cannot believe there is 30 pages of discourse over what he said here. People clearly did not listen to the 20 seconds of audio immediately following the line everyone is up in arms about.
