If Talarico pulls off a stunner in Texas for Senate in 2026, he'll jump to the front of the pack for president in 2028. Fingers crossed.

Would Talarico be ready and willing to hold these demons accountable to the maximum extent of the law with zero exceptions, or would he do some forgiveness/be the better man/appeal to our better angels sh*t?

if he’s not talking about bringing heavy justice to every single vermin in this regime, then I’m not interested in him…same goes for every single Dem candidate in 2028

that’s my #1 issue…the same way we’ve got people voting one way because of abortion, or trans, or whatever else, this is mine

    they must pay

I'd be surprised if that happened mostly because a Texas Senate seat is that valuable, and he'd be considered as unique in his ability to hold it. I think party officials and big donors will try to talk him into focusing on holding that seat long term. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how much of a national movement Talarico has. If he's pulling in crowds of 20K and there's real populist movement behind him then I could see that calculus changing, but I think if he wins Texas he'll be focused, and Dems will want him to be focused on holding that seat as long as possible.

The nice thing about voting for a Democrat is it wouldn't be the call of a politician to indict or not. The only decision they will make is who to nominate for AG. I do think most of them likely learned their lesson by going the Merrick Garland unity route, and just say screw it and nominate a pit bull prosecutor.

Whether its Talarico, or whomever, I do hope that they hire a pit bull, and these corrupt swamp creatures can truly be held accountable for once.

The best thing though a new Dem president can do is find a way to build a coalition in Congress that will finally pass an anti-corruption bill that can roll back the damage caused by Citizens United. Any Dem that runs on an anti-corruption platform certainly has my vote of support.

If he did and won, he would be the youngest and least experienced president we've ever elected.

John Stuart was a touring comedian for a chunk of his life. The republican media would be able to dig up stories, that while not a big deal if it was a republican candidate, wouldn't fly for the dem nominee.

Even Trump with no government experience at least ran a corporation. Being a Texas House Rep isn't even a fulltime job.

I would take a former teacher any day over a reality tv show clown who sh$t his pants on set, and whose "corporation" was nothing more than a mom and pop licensing venture where he'd just sell his name to slap on the side of other people's buildings.

Yes... before the Apprentice, Trump did himself buy, sell, and develop real estate with the money he essentially stole from the Fred Trump estate. However he was so successful with that business that he had to file bankruptcy 5 times until he got bailed out, and remade as a Reality TV star alongside his competition of talents such as Kim Kardashian, Snooki, the Situation, and Flavor Flav.

So yeah... I think Talarico even as young as he is, and "only" being a teacher before being a state rep is more qualified in my book than the failure that Trump was in 2016 who lucked out by becoming a messiah cult leader to the evangelical right which is the one big thing that led him to being able to become the President.

I'm not arguing that Trump is in some way a better prospect to be president than Talarico. If Trump has more experience, it only bolsters the argument that it takes more than experience to be a good president. And look, I'd like for Talarico to win the Senate seat and I hope he scratches out a good career. But that's already pretty ambitious given where he is at and what he is up against.

    Personally, I want experience.

But people are so damn tired of old, senile people running the government. They would take a freshman in an instant over another old man.

Well, the idea of affordability lies in ruins, so if he says it was an explosion, okay I guess.

Child Sex Abuse Material. I had to look it up.

I remember a case about this when it overlapped with fed courts stuff. A J6er's lawyer argued that the Trump pardon should cover the the child p*rn charges too, because authorities would not have discovered the child p*rn were it not for the J6 arrest.

Didn't realize there were other child p*rn guys in that group.

Really though? Had you ever, say, looked at photos of the rioters?
