In the Daniel Jeremiah call, DJ mentioned that the Chargers at 22 as a team looking to trade back. The Chargers biggest need would be a Guard (Pregnon, Bisontis) or DE (TJ Parker, Zion Young). Texans trading up with the Chargers would make a lot of sense. Texans could jump the teams looking to draft a DT (Bears, Bills) and OT (Browns, Eagles, 49ers). Texans could then be able to select either Faulk, Miller, or Woods and only lose a late day 2 or early day 3 pick.

This is probably one of the most realistic mock drafts that I've seen. Faulk at 19 and then the Texans trade up again to pick 30 for OT Max Iheanachor.

When you are reading all the information about players pouring out just remember that this is prime silly season right before the draft.

Agents are trying to prop up their players and teams are playing games as well.

Loving the Faulk to Texans picks/mocks here in recent days, he's extremely young and I think fits the window to provide backup reps and develop behind our mainliners. I genuinely don't think a top pick is needed on a DT like most Texans fans, but Kayden McDonald at 38 to pair with Faulk would send a clear message to the rest of the NFL that you will not be able to run on us and the numbers show that NFL teams are increasingly turning back to the run with so many nickel heavy alignments. Also of note, I think the depth at DT is underrated this year, there is a good bit of athleticism in the later rounds at the position that normally does not exist.

I also like the chances of hitting on a nice CB in rounds 2-3 this year. Have high confidence that the CJohnson/Cisse/K Scott/Ponds/Muhammad/Stukes/Igbinosun tier of CBs will perform well. This is a damn solid LB class, like our chances of adding depth/insurance.

Personally think we can wait on interior OL. At center, I'm not convinced that Hecht/Lew/Slaughter are remotely worth taking in the 1st 2 rounds, Pat Coogan/Jager Burton are much better values in the 4th or later. In that same vein, I think Kage Casey/Billy Schrauth are both strong prospects being mocked in the 100s that can play inside. At OT, I can see the appeal to try to nab one of the top 8 or so and it's not like we are working with much depth there. If we don't do so, Markel Bell and Travis Burke fit the new mold it seems we are targeting and based on some reports, I think we like Riley Mahlmann as a potential late round or priority UDFA.

I'm probably not as high on this TE class as the consensus, because of the lack of great blockers, but I think there is certainly juice to be squeezed in this class for a team with 7 picks in the 1st 5 rounds. RB- Desmond Reid/Le'Veon Moss are two of my favorites, but they are both hard to rely on taking a roster spot, they seem to always miss snaps/games. Agree with those high on Adam Randall, at a position where there are a bunch of grinders that you want on the roster, but not with a valuable pick, he has the toolset that makes you want to use a 4th round pick on. Tyrone Tracy being productive for the Giants only helps verify that. For what the Texans are looking for at WR, a Day 3 pick that can provide a spark either in YAC or getting over the top in limited reps, I think this class can deliver. My favorite under the radar player at the position currently is Eric McAlister, in a class with good testing/average production at the bottom, he is a bit more proven.

I think we will stick at 28 and pick either Kayden McDonald or Christen Miller. I believe this because of our lack of DT's on the roster. One or both should be available at 28. Thoughts?

He's Logan Thomas all over again. He needs to move to WR or TE. Green is no where close to having the accuracy needed for a NFL QB, but has the athleticism to be a great wideout.
