Insane shot by Coby White to take the hornets into OT and get the win (highest +/- of any player on either side), a position of need at the deadline and Stone did nothing. It will never be your year when you consistently sit on your hands and hope for the best. The real issue is that Stone knows he lacks the skills to be an elite GM so he is playing it safe, he said don't judge me until 2030 back in 2021. He is trying to hold onto a job he knows he is not qualified for. He was hoping he would luck out and a generational talent like Wemby would be gifted to him, the reality is teams like Houston need to outsmart the competition, constantly be making incremental upgrades and maintain flexibility. This front office is actually one of the laziest groups we have ever seen. Not sure how we get out of the DFS contract, he got lucky Oladipo declined his insane offer. Eventually luck runs out, and you need actual skill.

You tell me? Denver is probably the third best team in the Western Conference right now. Do you think that the expectation for this organization after rebuilding for years to be the 4th best team in the West?

I don't mean that snarky either - I personally have seen a number of rebuilds go poorly and some go well. I have heard a lot of people say that the Rockets should get to the WCF this season.

I agree with this - In the case of SA and OKC, they have done many other things well -- but without Shai and Wemby

Stone worked extensively on getting the sale approved and built up a relationship with TF.

I still don’t get why so many fans harp on one phrase one sentence when he said it in jest.

Did you watch the whole press conference? He said he liked this group and thinks this group can grow and play very well post all star.

He said it in jest. Makes me wonder if these people actually watched the whole press conference

He must love bball because he could be a pretty successful contract lawyer not just in sports....

Unfortunately they doubled down on bad speakers, both Tilman and Stone are not getting their points across clearly.

And the guy that does, throws his players under the bus on the regular basis.

    Those Three Amigos.

Bulls wanted first round pick and or Sheppard or Eason. White is also a 3 month rental and wants 30 mil a year

Den and Spurs aren’t invincible and OKC has vulnerabilities. We just need to limit TO’s, make sure we get points off TO’s, batter their stars, and hit our threes. But I agree we don’t have a star in their prime. This is why Giannis needs to happen even if he’s a little past his prime. At least we have a small window for a title with him and Durant and will figure out the post Durant years.

Imagine if the Celtics sat around and bemoaned the fact that Jokic, SGA and at that time Embiid were better than Tatum lol

Wish we had Mazulla. He put on a masterclass this season. He got 56 wins mostly without Tatum and had a better record against the West (.667) than Ime Udoka’s overall record this season. Nevermind the Celtics lost 3 of their top 6 players this summer. We out here whining about FVV and Adams.

We have everything we need to make the WCF and had the picks to acquire a backup PG. Spurs - like the high seeded Thunder and Rockets before them - lack any real playoff experience. Nuggets have looked beatable and statistically the hardest player for Jokic to guard in the NBA is none other than Alperen Sengun. OKC should be the only problem for us.

Sengün could be easily handled by a 6'7 DB type....almost everyone had a dude or archetype that gets to him.

Right now SAS and OKC have the swarming D to bother Dickerson, Sengün and Amen.

I am still pissed at the KPJ PG blunder, him taking JG4 and him and Silas doing their comedic tandem.

    every team is vulnerable.

Celtics shoot teams out the building as they always do. Very simple.Rockets don’t have this

As we know fans judge and criticize many things. And many things criticized and hated unnecessarily. But people are people. Clearly he said it in jest. If they take it poorly and misconstrue and then attack him for it then that’s on them. But this shows you how people hone in on things they want to hear or see. This one sentence was about injuries and he went on to say he likes the team and thinks we are in a position to succeed and grow.

That was their bargaining position, but they got Sexton, trash, and second round picks. I didn’t want Colby White because he is going to be an overpaid chucker that is redundant to Reed, but we could have gotten him for less than what they were asking. They could have had Ayo, who would have been worth a FRP (one of our own with protections) and would be worth re-signing. Alvarado was the easy one. Clutchfans would’ve been crying no matter who we got, because Reed would have been the guy getting benched.

If we beat the Lakers, which we will, and OKC beats either the Clippers or the Warriors, which they will, then we will meet OKC in the second round.
