I spent some time over the last five days re-examining the song “The Number of the Beast” by Iron Maiden. I’ve been watching the video a lot. The sole reason being to play the entirety of the song on guitar. I learned the whole song including guitar solos. It’s not an easy song to play. But,I got it and the techniques need to pick the intro and then there is the rhythm parts. Fun challenge but I got the whole damn thing. Final piece is just keeping tempo and playing it cleanly. It’s actually resulted in my improvement over that 5 days where you come back the next day and you are a better player. Fun stuff. Playing along to that song is just pure adrenaline and fun. You have to be on your game.
