Nick Allen shouldn’t be on this team and if he is it should only be as a late inning defensive replacement.
Joe is a Fkn idiot and will play his sorry arse on pretty much a daily basis Loper has an .800 OPS vs RHP also and is sitting, but I guess at 26 you can't expect him to play every day against RHP at that advanced age
This reminds me of the last season's collapse at the end of the season culminating in the Mariners sweeping us at home and securing them a playoff a spot and knocking us out. It just kept getting worse and worse, loss after loss..like an avalanche. We couldn't even get one win to stem the tide. Sleepy Joe Espada doesn't know how to get this team out of epic ruts. It's always one terrible loss after another that you loss track of them. He doesn't have an answer to juice this team to possibly snap this team out of it. Can't even luck into a win. Absolutely clueless.
And we will continue to not know who is covering 1st base And we will continue to jog in on a ball to the OF and let it drop at our toes And we will continue to watch Nick Allen try to hit .200 Actually I think this brand of baseball and results is gonna start having a sizeable impact on attendance at the Daik, and we have never seen Crane's reaction to that because since we came out of the cellar in 2015 the place has been towards the top in attendance every year. Let's see how much of a leash Lost Joe has when the place is mostly empty
The fans didn’t run Dusty off. Dusty sabotaging the 2023 postseason (and stretch run) is what ran Dusty off. The fans had nothing to do with it.
Meanwhile back to same shitty plate discipline as Kirby mows through us at 80 pitches through 6.1. about to be a nice clean 8ip on 2 runs for him. The Astros are every single teams slump buster.
I know we're saddled with injuries and other excuses but a decent manager can usually will at least one win out of a team by shear determination and pride but Espada just can't seem to do it. Remember we literally only needed like one or two wins late last season to make the postseason and this team looked utterly incapable of pulling anything out of themselves down the stretch. You could feel the silence in the Astros dugout from your TV screens. The silence was deafening.
This team is just not talented enough. Especially on the pitching. All those years of not getting high picks finally caught up.
8 losses in a row. Worst team in the major. If the worst offense can put up good numbers against you, can't imagine what a good offense will do to this horrid pitching staff.
@Nook any nuggets of insight into the teams morale or if they aren’t digging Espada - on top of everything just seeing some of the same stuff as last year which always Made me question if they believed in him at all. I felt he never really had the team but what do I know - anyway just spiraling
