That's a big swing. Once the narrative sets that you're a loser, it's really difficult to change it back, especially if you keep doing stupid and insane loser-like things. Right now, it looks as if that cement is drying fast.

Grandpa's too tired to put effort into coming up with convincing lies any longer. He just throws out the first untruth that comes to mind, and he knows the cult will buy it.

Well, he's not a doctor either. Or a Red Cross volunteer.

Easy talking point for Dems: "If he believes he is Jesus Christ, he should be removed from office and if he can't tell the difference between a doctor and Jesus Christ, he should be removed from office." Of course, Democratic leadership will likely come up with something like, "He should try to heal grocery prices."

Also, what is going on with that horned winged figure hovering over his head?

To be fair his followers do view him as a God. And, Trump does have a God complex.

And due to Door Dash complicity in the delivery charade, I'll never use their service again.

Of course, the only time I used them was from a Christmas gift card...but like gifts, it's the thought that counts.

I will say this --- and it is something that a lot of Democrats are not comprehending. Many of those people that voted for Trump, voted for him because they wanted RADICAL change and while he had warts, he was the only one that wasn't cookie cutter and advocated for tearing down the system. There are a lot of Americans right now, a lot of males especially, that have gone from aspirational and optimistic that their lives will get better, to being confrontational and wanting everything to burn.

Whomever does a better job of tapping into those people, that sentiment and actually having the government tangibly improve their lives, will win the next 20 years of voters. I can't say that I assume it will be the Democrats, I think it is just as likely that it will be the Republicans or maybe a real third party.

There are a lot of men that do not have a college degree -- and men are being left behind. Right now, the percentage of college degrees awarded to men is 40%, and that is the same rate of women in college received in 1970. This demographic split is getting worse, and it is something that the parties will have to take into account. Couple this with social media now being programmed separately based on gender and there is a massive division.

We are diverging when it comes to how men and women view their lives, the country, what an ideal life is and what their interests are.

You don't tap into that. You change the narrative. Unfortunately, Democrats have ceded that ground for 40 years and the Republican narrative, drawing on historical prejudices and caricatures, has taken hold. It will take a lot of time and work both during campaigns and between them to change that narrative, but it can be done. The only question is whether Democrats--and by extension democracy-loving Americans--have the discipline and resources to see it through or if they will settle for the continued pattern of 52-48 wins and 48-52 losses leading to significant diminishments in civil life.
