sorry, sir, IU was coach for one season. The season PP wants to forget as he was forgot. Mazzula may not have reinserted PP into heavy rotation early, however he did. Worked out well for team, player, coach.

it certainly feels to me that Reed is experiencing the same effect that Pritchard did- - with 23 draft slots between.

Without a change during p/o I suspect Shepwill schlep to other points, and likely greater success than his return will bring TheRox.

Mark my words this isn’t a hot take and in other news water is wet.:D
But seriously glad we have a dedicated thread to discuss it.
I have heard people say that our playoff opponent scenario is a win win because:

if we get screwed and play Denver and lose in the 1st round then Ime & Stone will probably be on the hot seat and they will have reconfigure the roster

if we get lucky and play the Lakers, then we get out 1st round and Ime & Stone is probably safe but Stone should realize and learn from how bad he screwed up with the DFS signing & not signing or trading for a PG or scorer & not trading Tari
Unfortunately that scenario probably doesn’t help Reed.

The best case scenario for the future of the franchise is ironically playing Denver and getting embarrassed and Ime & Stone get fired and we get Mike Malone while he’s available and any decent GM preferably one that has played in the league like a Jerry West who actually understands roster construction and X & Os and not just number crunching & advanced analytics only

no worries. I don’t know. Sheppard is playing considerable minutes and the team publicly has said they’re invested in him.

The point is that if you’re building around Amen/Sengun, you need to get players like Sheppard who take and make threes on volume.

It is inexcusable that our big three scores 100 points and we still lose. It is inexcusable that sheppard is 80% of our bench scoring.

the big questions are how the playoffs go and how much sway Udoka has on the roster.

just spitballing, Reed / Ausur? Who sez ‘no’???

So we trade our only decent PG for Temu Ameiz? We've got the real thing already, I'd rather keep somebody who can shoot outside of 8 feet tbh.

Ok we finally agree on something. Sheppard definitely gives the team another look and stretches the floor.

Shams: Reed Sheppard has been left of the playoff roster for the Houston Rockets. Udoka says that he is not ready.

How many GM’s have played in the league? Not many.

Are we talking about Malone who had a better pg, shooters, and dominant center? Same guy who bickered with the GM, overly harsh and lost his locker room? Why would we want to hire him?

This is why I want him playing more. He makes it easier for Sengun. He has good connection with KD and Amen. I’ve seen teams leave a double on KD to guard a reed 3. That’s his gravity and why he’s so important. His process is undoubtedly the best on the team. If he’s hot, and the rockets starters are playing average the rockets can beat any team in the league as seen in the Spurs game.
When he plays good, he HAS to close. I am sick of us not involving him on the offense and benching him when he gets into rhythm. That’s all.

I don’t care if he starts or comes off the bench. I want him actively involved on the offense.

The talent amongst the core 5+ KD is there. The bench however has no scoring due to the fact we have 60 million in deadcap.

I’m not looking to trade anyone; I’m wondering if the coach would push for one, however.

No. We are talking about Mike Malone who just took the North Carolina job.

What coaches don’t have favorites? Pop had favorites. He loved Bruce Bowen despite scoring limitations.

After re-reading this response by you I admit I misread and misunderstood your comments. While I don’t agree with some of it, I do understand your point of rhythm players. I only heard that term used by the media a few times and never bought into it. Never heard it growing up playing ball. I’d hear us needing to get in rhythm or guys getting in the zone or streaky but not about rhythm shooters or scorers.

What I take from your comments is that some players who are in the rhythm shooter mold can get going after a few plays ran for them and when they’re in a zone can do a lot of damage. This I can agree with.

I thought you were saying these shooters require warming up and teams should keep force feeding them the ball so they can get in a groove, which sounded like an excuse for poor play. I probably judged what you wrote instead of reading it.

Your response was still unnecessary and everything that happened after that was ridiculous. But I owe up to my part and say I was wrong in assuming what you said and let pride get in the way.

6-20 and punished by Marcus Smart in the post, now we see why Reed’s minutes should disappear if his shot is off

It was bad. So was the entire teams.

not the main issue but Udokas insistence on shuffling the starting lineup constantly played a big role on why Jabari, Amen, Senguin and Reed all shot so poorly

We can’t disappear everyone’s minutes. But we should blow it up.
