Blockading Iran would be a sensible counter to Iran's blockade of the Strait. Make sure Iran suffers economically too, if they're going to make the rest of the world suffer. Except blockading Iran is going to make the price of oil go up more and imperil Trump's electoral fortunes more. So, the blockade has taco potential too. We could blockade food and other essentials coming in while allowing the oil to go out. But, all of Iran's neighbors also have reason to hate us and Iran could be supplied via Caspian ports or overland routes and pay with all the elevated oil profits they'd be getting. So I'm not sure it is a winning plan.

 

They have definitely done so in the past. There is no evidence they’ve done so during this conflict. There’s no intel, just an anonymous source claiming there’s intel. Yesterday these sources pretended the navy crossed the strait.

During war time we shouldn’t believe any anonymous sources that don’t provide data to back up their claims. They tend to use these information channels to build narratives.

Importantly, there’s nothing Iran needs less than missiles. They have more missiles than there are interceptors in the region. They also manufacture missiles much faster than anyone can manufacture interceptors.

They need everything else. There’s no way China can get it to them though.
