We definitely should have won more games, like 7-8 more on the top of my head But considering the injuries we had and the ineffectiveness of DFS Getting to the same win total from last year is pretty good Bringing back the same squad next year with the addition of FVV, Steven Adams and hopefully a fully healthy DFS Having another playoff experience from the core This team will be stacked next year
The highest grade Id give is a B to Durant, mainly because he is $hit at defense and turns the ball over at least half of his possessions or so.... B- minus for Amen C- for Sengun C for Jabari C for Reed If you dind't get a grade you're a bum and should be off the team...
Amen can do no wrong go this board. He’s been the biggest reason people are frustrated with the pg position.
Agree with most of it, but Okogie B Capela C Holiday B Tari D Ime B- (50 wins in an extremely competitive west after losing their starting point guard and 6th man) Stone C- (Took a bet on DFS and was wrong. Not making any moves was questionable, but based on the cap situation there was very little that could be done.)
I think with Stone it was more like he took a direction and did not follow up and then wanted to take another direction and it was more of a mixed bag. If it was strictly offseason moves: You could even give him a B or B Minus for KD..... D Minus or F because Stone literally disappeared from the Screen after that Presser due to his lifestyle slogan: I work hard a few months and vacation harder the other months. 1st direction Contention: KD and did not follow up with a trade for FVV replacement and shooters. 2nd direction: Pivoted to a gap year ....development and such......Reed Sheppard and still got benched in critical minutes. This is not our year: This is probably the worst PR since KPJ beat his GF in a NY Hotel.
Nah I agree with you a lot but this ain’t it. Getting emotional with the bad stretch and low IQ narrative. Tari led the league in 3 point percentage for half the season while him and Amen are the only ones on the team that match the average Spurs and OKC player on 40 yard dash times. He’s at 36% and up an attempt per game on volume. Alex Caruso is shooting 29% from 3 and turning the ball over and he actually has other guys on his team that can run as fast as him and dribble penetrate and spark plays better than him. Dyson Daniel’s is shooting 19% from 3 and turning the ball over like crazy. Toumani Camara had his bad stretch at the beginning of the season and now he’s at 37% been cooking. Trevor Ariza and PJ Tucker used to step out of bounds with the ball 3 times a game, look directly at the other team and throw the ball to them on inbounds plays and they were standing still. Atleast Tari is moving full speed when he has most of his mental lapses. Mikal Bridges, Jaden McDaniels, and Dillon Brooks have had their awful stretches. Lou Dort is 34%, Herb Jones is 31%. The Tari and Amen defensive regression is just a narrative people made up because they don’t know what they’re talking about. They don’t follow matchups, they don’t see plays turned back, passes that weren’t made, plays that formed due to a lack of speed. They blindly label Jabari and KD as good defenders and expected to be able to hide bad defenders and have a great defense. The speed, matchups, ball pressure and trickle down from losing Fred and Dillon in support is the issue.
You're clearly insane. Averaging 5.3 assists and shooting 21.6% from deep clearly makes him one of the elite PG's in the league.
To me, when you come into the season sulking because you're butt hurt at not getting a contract. Then at the end of the season you're still sulking. And have blown up at multiple teammates throughout the season, as well as having just a garbage attitude in and of itself. I don't care about numbers. You're a garbage teammate and it's an automatic F-. I wish Adams put him in his place.
Those are some incredibly generous grades in the OP, I don't agree with any of them except maybe Durant. But still probably not even him. Everyone else is too high.
Fair enough, I guess just different people different perspectives. I don’t know 100% the contract is the reason or the full story behind the scenes. If it’s just him wanting to play more, wanting to win, feeling over blamed and over **** on compared to his overall effect on the scoreboard than I don’t see it as a big deal. Everything being all good while we’re melting in 4th quarters and consistently losing to good teams would be a problem too.
He’s asked to shoulder much of the load. I do think Durant As an A is too much, he tanked chemistry for a bit and had a historic run at TO numbers…that ain’t an A in any universe
Yet we are undefeated when he doesn’t play. Giving him an A is something else.. he’s the reason we lost most of our important games. Constant turnovers and missed free throws in the clutch. I don’t think anyone on the team deserved an A this year. If I’d give it to anyone it’d be Okogie. Signed for nothing, no expectations made a huge impact
Nobody on the roster deserves an A. Everybody contributed to the good and detriment of this team this season. the individual talent improved but the team didn’t… The team didn’t improved from the previous season. How the hell can anybody get an A? maybe I’m just tough to please.
