Ime doesn’t see it that way. He doesn’t understand the concept of floor spacing

 

I hear you but losing sucks. My suggestion is for Alpi and Reed to hurry up and become superstars so they can drive Ime out of town…assuming they don’t get driven out of town first.

 

That’s fair tbh but I still think you’re giving Ime too much cover. He assembled this roster . Stone sad yes..but it’s on him

 

It doesn't matter if the Lakers lose against the Jazz now, Rockets are locked into the 5th seed since they lose the tiebreak against both the Lakers and Nuggets. Rockets probably weren't getting home court anyway even if they had won tonight.

 

But we want LA at 4 instead of Denver, and Denver is most likely going to tank against San Antonio so we need that Lakers L

 

As Rockets fans we definitely are spoiled relative to most of the league...hell, if GSW's dumb asses did what they originally planned to and traded Steph instead of Monta or made the Klay for KLove trade happen, we'd probably have at least two chips in the Harden years. Sucks for us it didn't happen, but in another universe it already did.

Even with this group we escaped out of the cycle of tanking pretty fast! Maybe a little too fast, seeing as I don't think we drafted a true superstar unless Amen comes back with a three ball

 

Oh right. I have a sinking feeling the Nuggets will tank the last game against the Spurs. Spurs also have every incentive to beat the Nuggets and get them and OKC in the same bracket in the 2nd round. Honestly think we're headed to a Rockets vs Nuggets round 1..

You’re right in a way but you can see Ime’s fingerprints on the roster construction.

Just hearing him, KD, and Fred talk you can tell they don’t get it and their approach to the game is dated. It’s all toughness, individual play with defined roles. It’s like a baseball approach to the game.

Meanwhile we’re getting our ass kicked by ultimate frisbee teams routinely. Other teams are prioritizing speed and lots of fast athletes that can do everything: pass, shoot, dribble. They take control of the flow of the game, and get opportunities our slower “better” players are 8 feet away from.

 

At this point I hope it happens Tari ain’t coming back for less than he values himself.
Once Reed and Sengun are gone and we’re an old and slower team who still struggle on offense , Ime wont have the luxury of scapegoating the young guys for his ineptitude. Hes gotten the national media to buy into his excuse of FVV.

Looks like we’re playing the Lakers and not the Nuggets in the 1st round.

Going into the playoffs healthy and can finally rest our players on the final night and start preparing for the Lakers.

This. Ime has a vision of how he wants his teams to play and win and it’s outdated. That the reason he’s not in Boston anymore. Not because of fraternization. Brad Davis didn’t want Ime anymore. He made all those trades and built that team up and Ime wouldn’t play the players the way He wanted. Brad Davis wanted White to pay more and have more involvement but Ime didn’t value White. Apparently Davis and Ime bumped heads more often than not behind the scene during that season despite making the finals. At the end fk the finals Brad Davis simply wasn’t impresssed with Ime as a coach after one season. Celtics just used that story as an opportunity to move on from Ime.

 

I really don’t care about the bricks that he throws up. It’s the dribbling into traffic and not looking to give up the ball quickly that drives me crazy.

Last game of the year Denver and San Antonio can lock themselves into a much easier first round matchup by making sure San Antonio wins.

That's if the Lakers win, I imagine they will tank that last game also to assure the easier matchup with us instead of Minnesota.

Like I've said, I don't think a hollow first round win will be in our long term best interest. This roster construction and coaching fit is simply f**ked right now.
