I don’t think you’re wrong in that it’s flawed but Udoka is getting as little out of it because he refuses to adapt.

I think we need a coach that’s flexible and adept on the offensive end. This league has become too offense heavy to be a JVG

Games like this needs good coaching to win.

We don't have that.

 

Amen-KD-Sengun combine for 96 points on 40-53 shooting (75%)… and we still lost. Insane.

If you look at how Morey treated his players, I don't think he treated them worse than most other GMs. He just made it clear that (aside from James Harden) anybody was moveable for the right price--hell, maybe even Harden was. What is the point of sugarcoating stuff when the NBA is a business anyway

I think he was a good GM, very ahead of his time, excellent at finding value in the draft too. Now the league's analytics have caught up with him a bit and I think he's no longer as special as he was, hence him not finding a ton of success outside of Houston. He also kind of seemed like a massive douche in how he treated non-basketball people, but that could be media articles coloring my impression of him because I've never met the guy.

 

Worst thing about losing this game is the realisation that we have to cheer for Utah to get an upset W against LA.

IMO, the issue is that we don't have players with the offensive skill required. Everyone is limited in some way and has trade-offs. I put most of the blame on Stone for that since he didn't acquire a superstar player with his draft picks. Ime has influence but Stone is the final decision maker as GM. As I've said many times, I'm not a fan of the KD trade and I'm not a fan of Stone, but I'm always rooting for this team, even though I don't think they'll win a championship. My order of blame goes to Stone/front office, then the players, and then to Ime.
